About the festival

2021 sees us host the celebrated 12th YFIFF!!

The Yellow Fever Indie Film Festival is run by film makers, for film makers. The No.1 Independent Film Festival in Northern Ireland, created by George Clarke (of Yellow Fever Productions) in 2009, the festival has went from strength to strength pulling in a host of amazing world wide film makers and industry names such as the prolific Albert Pyun (Cyborg, Captain America, Road To Hell) and Mike Leeder (Rogue One, Rush Hour 3, Man Of Tai Chi).

The festival prides itself in finding and promoting new talent of the independent film world, now in its new home on the marina in the beautiful coastal town of Bangor (Northern Ireland). With its stunning surroundings, and ease of access by train or bus services, our new location puts you right on the doorstep of some beautiful coastal walks and scenery - yet still only 20 minutes from Belfast City Centre.

The YFIFF now focuses STRICTLY on genre films that hail the Action (or) Horror (or) Thriller (or) Grindhouse theme, as the main genre of your film - or at least in-part...

A weekend of movies and fun is always guaranteed, with a chance for some networking, meeting new friends and fans. As usual, we close with our wonderful big black tie, gala dinner award ceremony on the Sunday evening, resulting in a lot of happy people, plenty of smiles and great memories!

For those (non-NI) film-makers that attend, the YFIFF staff offer a touring day the following Monday of some of the best sights of Northern Ireland, as a 'thank-you' for joining us, and the chance to make your trip a bit more special...

The YFIFF has now joined forces with the incredible Open House Festival that runs in Bangor for the whole month of August and is a great opportunity for all involved.

We look forward to meeting you and sharing your film to the people of Norn' Iron!!

Good luck & many thanks,

George Clarke, Kenny Martin & the YFIFF team

*We had to cancel the physical festival of the 11th YFIFF in 2020 due to Covid 19 and instead, created an awards video for the filmmakers. You can watch that video via:
