About the festival

Bluebird Pictures is hosting the World Cinema Film Festival this year by teaming up with The Film Empire to support emerging filmmakers from around the world.

The World Cinema Film Festival is a celebration of culture and community through a universal love of film.

Over two days we screen several critically acclaimed short films from around the world that represent some of best in world cinema, as well as our winners films and selected films. This is accompanied by industry talks, and an opportunity to feast on local cuisine from our global food stalls - making it a truly inclusive and special festival.

The World Cinema Film Festival has a summer festival atmosphere that will allow attendees to pick and choose which talks and screenings they view, with lots of opportunity to network and try out new food and drink. At the end of the festival we have an amazing award ceremony for our winners.

The festival should have been held in London and Los Angeles in July this year making our third year a truly global event. However due to the continuing situation with COVID-19 we have decided to host our festival online this August to ensure we are adhering to rules surrounding lockdown in both the States and the UK as well as taking care of our wonderful community's safety.

Our online festival will consist of winners films streamed on our brand new Vimeo channel, Q&A's with industry guests - a carefully curated selection of world cinema and 'at home' competitions. More information to follow...
