Due to restrictions from the pandemic, The Woods Hole Film Festival will present the 30th Woods Hole Film Festival from July 31 - August 7, 2021 as a hybrid event with both virtual and in-person outdoor special event screenings. In response the pandemic and the continued restrictions on public gatherings in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, we have worked hard to create an event that will offer all of the features and elements of the Woods Hole Film Festival, but in a virtual environment. If it is safe and possible, we may also present in-person aspects of the Festival as well during the 30th Woods Hole Film Festival. However, given the uncertainty about whether this will be possible, this determination will be made at a later date. Please check back for updates. The Woods Hole Film Festival is a signatory of the Seed & Spark 2020 Festival Survival Pledge. Filmmaker attendance strongly encouraged, whether for the virtual or in-person Festival. Filmmaker must assist Festival in film promotion. Category, screening time, date, venue and format determination is at sole discretion of Festival. Woods Hole Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival and for promotional purposes. If accepted, filmmaker will be available to help promote the film. The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations. The applicant shall indemnify and hold harmless Woods Hole Film Festival from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening media entered.
Once a film is selected as an official selection by the Festival, a film may not be withdrawn from the Festival by the filmmaker for any reason whatsoever. Filmmaker agrees to comply with all Festival rules and requirements and abide by Festival code of conduct. An official selection offer may be revoked by the Festival if a filmmaker does not comply with all Festival rules and requirements.
Film may not screen in a non-Festival screening within 90 miles of the Woods Hole Film Festival 3 months prior and 1 month post Festival. Exceptions may apply, but must be approved by WHFF in order for the film to maintain its status as an official selection in competition.
