1. Weihnachtsfilmfestival (Christmas Film Festival) is looking for movies from all over the world that deal with ‘Christmas’ in any thinkable ways. Unconventional Christmas movies are in focus. All genres and lengths are welcome. The film should be completed after the year 2000. The submission is open from 01/02/2020 to 09/15/2020.
2. There are no entry fees.
3. A fully completed entry form on the Weihnachtsfilmfestival website or submission via FilmFreeway is necessary for a valid film entry. Alternatively to the preview link of the film it is possible to send a preview DVD via mail to:

4. Weihnachtsfilmfestival shows films in these sections:
> Short Film (up to 30min)
> Medium Length Film (30min to 60min)
> Feature Film (from 60min)
> Horror Movie (Short Films, Medium Length Films or Feature Films)
5. In the Short Film section the audience is voting for their favorite movie. The winner will receive a trophy.
6. Those screening formats are allowed:
> DCP
> File (H.264 MP4 or MOV)
> BluRay / DVD
> 35mm / 16mm
7. The films will be shown in their original version. Movies in German language should provide English subtitles. International contributions should have English or German subtitles.
8. The participants declare that they have all the necessary rights to screen their submitted movie. They assure that no third parties are infringed by screening their movie. That includes copyrights and performance rights.
9. Weihnachtsfilmfestival will take place in Berlin from 12/23 to 12/27/2020. The festival reserves the right to change the date.
10. Selected films will be notified until 09/30/2020. If a film is selected for the program, it may not be withdrawn after 10/20/2020.
11. Selected films will be screened at Weihnachtsfilmfestival once. The winning short film of the audience voting will be shown at the end of the festival for a second time. Weihnachtsfilmfestival is not able to pay screening fees for selected films that have been submitted. Other presentations outside the main festival event require approval of the participants. In this case Weihnachtsfilmfestival will contact the participants.
12. Selected films will be archived by Weihnachtsfilmfestival. This can be revoked by the participants at any time.
13. The participants handle the cost for sending the screening copies to the festival. Weihnachtsfilmfestival covers the cost for returning the screening copies.
14. Free of charge Weihnachtsfilmfestival is allowed to publish basic movie information, film stills, links to trailer and film segments up to 20 seconds for print materials, website, social media channels, festival trailer, TV reports and other analog and digital media. Weihnachtsfilmfestival is allowed to pass on the materials to third parties only the context of public relations.
15. The festival director reserves the right to permit exceptions in special and justified cases.

TEILNAHMEBEDINGUNGEN
1. Das Weihnachtsfilmfestival lädt Filmemacher aus aller Welt ein, ihre filmischen Werke vom 01.02.2020 bis 15.09.2020 einzureichen. Alle Genres und Längen sind willkommen. Gesucht werden Filme, die sich inhaltlich oder formal mit dem Thema ‚Weihnachten‘ auseinandersetzen. Unkonventionelle Weihnachtsfilme stehen dabei klar im Vordergrund. Die Filme müssen nach dem Jahr 2000 entstanden sein.
2. Die Filmanmeldung kostenfrei.
3. Grundlage für eine gültige Filmanmeldung ist ein vollständig ausgefülltes Online-Formular auf der Weihnachtsfilmfestival Webseite oder die Einreichung über die Plattform FilmFreeway. Alternativ zum Preview-Link des Films kann eine Preview-DVD auf dem Postweg gesendet werden an:

4. Das Weihnachtsfilmfestival zeigt Filme in den Sektionen:
> Kurzfilm (bis 30min)
> Mittellanger Film (30min bis 60min)
> Feature Film (ab 60min)
> Horrorfilm (Kurzfilme, Mittellange Filme oder Feature Filme)
5. In der Sektion Kurzfilm kürt das Publikum per Abstimmung ihren Favoriten. Der Gewinner erhält eine Trophäe.
6. Als Screening-Formate sind zugelassen:

> Datei (H.264 MP4 oder MOV)
> BluRay / DVD
> 35mm / 16mm
7. Die Filme werden in der Originalversion gezeigt. Bei deutschsprachigen Filmen sind englische Untertitel wünschenswert. Internationale Beiträge sollten englische oder deutsche Untertitel vorweisen.
8. Die Teilnehmer versichern, dass sie über alle erforderlichen Nutzungsrechte für die Vorführungen ihrer Filme verfügen. Sie versichern, dass durch die Vorführungen ihrer Filme keine Urheber- oder Leistungsrechte Dritter verletzt werden.
9. Das Weihnachtsfilmfestival findet vom 23.12. bis 27.12.2020 in Berlin statt. Das Festival behält sich vor, das Datum des Festivals zu verändern.
10. Teilnehmer ausgewählter Filme werden bis zum 30.09.2020 benachrichtigt. Wurde ein Film für das Programm ausgewählt, darf dieser nach dem 20.10.2020 nicht mehr zurückgezogen werden.
11. Ausgewählte Filme werden beim Weihnachtsfilmfestival einmalig vorgeführt. Der Gewinnerfilm der Publikumsabstimmung wird am Ende des Festivals ein zweites Mal gezeigt. Das Weihnachtsfilmfestival kann für eingereichte und ausgewählte Filme keine Vorführgebühr zahlen. Weitere Vorführungen außerhalb des Festivaltermins bedürfen erneute Anfrage und Zustimmung durch die Teilnehmer.
12. Ausgewählte Filme werden vom Weihnachtsfilmfestival archiviert. Dies kann durch die Teilnehmer jederzeit wiederrufen werden.
13. Die Kosten für den Versand der Vorführkopien zum Festival tragen die Teilnehmer. Das Weihnachtsfilmfestival übernimmt die Kosten für den Rückversandt der Vorführkopien.
14. Dem Weihnachtsfilmfestival wird gestattet Filminformationen, Filmstandbilder, Links zu Trailern und Filmausschnitte bis zu einer Länge von 20 Sekunden unentgeltlich für Printmaterialen, Webseite, Social Media Kanäle, Festival-Trailer, TV Berichte sowie sonstige analoge und digitale Medien zu veröffentlichen und im Rahmen der Pressearbeit an Dritte weiter zu gegeben.
15. Der Festivalleiter behält sich das Recht vor, Ausnahmen in besonderen und begründeten Fällen zu gestatten.
