About the festival

Building on the incredible success of the inaugural festival in 2020, the WA Made Film Festival will return in March 2021 bigger and better with more films, more educational events, and a bigger audience.

WA Made Film Festival is Western Australia’s only independently operated film festival featuring WA made shorts, documentaries, television and webisodes.

WA Made Film Festival strives to showcase and celebrate talented cast and crew, stunning locations, and unique stories from all over Western Australia.

Held 12-14 March 2021, the WA Made Film Festival will screen across stunning locations including Palace Cinemas Raine Square right in the heart of Perth city.

Attracting audiences from all over Australia, the WA Made Film Festival 2021 will include World Premieres, Perth Premieres, pre-screening networking events, parties with drinks and canapés, Question and Answer sessions with filmmakers and other post-screening events and educational screenings.

TO KICK OFF SUBMISSIONS for our 2021 event, WA Made Film Festival has partnered with Buy West Eat Best for a brand new smartphone filmmaking competition called Get Smart!

Do you believe you have what it takes to be a filmmaker, but struggle to get your hands on expensive equipment?

Successful submissions will have their smartphone film screened at a special WA Made Film Festival event which will include drinks, food and a massive networking event.

There are great prizes up for grabs including $500 cash for the best film as voted by a special jury of industry professionals.

Submissions open 31st August 2020 and will remain open until regular submissions close in late December.

It’s time to get creative, to get shooting and to get smart!

OUR REGULAR 2021 FESTIVAL:

A screening committee will determine which films will be exhibited over the three day film festival. All submissions are unfortunately not guaranteed to be shown.
