EMERGENCY UPDATE *****DUE TO STATE REGULATIONS in NEW YORK, THE UPSTATE NY HORROR FILM FESTIVAL HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO COVID19. OFFICIAL SELECTIONS WILL BE OUT THIS WEEK and ALL FILMS WILL BE SCREENED in an EXTENDED UPSTATE NY HORROR FILM FESTIVAL 8th year 2020. THIS WILL NOT AFFECT OFFICIAL SELECTIONS as TWO ADDITIONAL DAYS WILL BE ADDED TO THE FILM FESTIVAL and FILMS WILL BE JUDGE BY THE YEAR. WE WILL HAVE WINNERS FOR BOTH 2020 and 2021******

GENERAL RULES
• All submissions to the Upstate NY Horror Film Festival (the "Festival") must include,
in one delivery: (a) the applicable entry fee; and (b) the submission. Multiple entries require multiple submission packages. All submissions are subject to these guidelines and rules (the "Festival Rules").
Submission deadlines for this festival are posted.

• Film submissions must be provided on a digital file (FilmFreeway/Vimeo/Youtube) (please test before sending)
•Once selected, please send movie in Highest format (up to 4gb for shorts) (Feature films can go up to 10 GB) mp4. h264 files only, Window Base.
• Submissions must be English language or English subtitled.
• Include title and name of contact on all media, materials, and containers.
• Do not send originals. The Festival is not responsible for materials lost or damaged in transit.
• Submissions must be available for screening during the Upstate NY Horror Fest
• Upstate NY Horror Film Festival reserves the right to change submission categories.
Eligibility and category determinations, along with prize awards, are the sole discretion of the Festival.
• We ONLY accept films from a horror, horror comedy, suspense, thriller, science fiction or any other genre related to horror/thriller. Films will only be accepted in the following categories: Short horror/thriller films with a time limit under 30 minutes, trailers, features
. We will accept Trailers or short promos that deal with the horror genre.
All films selected, Digital, must be given three weeks prior to festival. Any copies received after, will be considered for the next year.
-Being the first year as the new submissions for the 12 page script, get it made... If not enough entries are submitted, the film festival, UNYHFF, has the right to refund all who entered. In exchange, will give them an entry fee waiver for the following year

NEW! SHORT HORROR SCRIPT _ Winner Gets it created ($5000)

Description

We are looking for the best horror/ sci fi script, 12 pages and under, and the winner, will receive a chance to make their script a reality. Winner will get a $5,000 Film shoot, from award-winning filmmaker and festival director Joseph Kelly, which includes discussions prior to the shoot and script changes, setting up locations and casting help, then will come to your area, with 4k video, sound, along with helping you direct the film. After, we will bring the footage back and do a good two weeks of post production. Then, you have your short film ready for the film festival circuit! NOTE: ONLY for U.S. and CANADA Residents only. $5000 video package includes pre production prep talk, Video and Sound equipment, Joseph on set, as your second in command, and your Camera Operator. Two weeks of post production. Does not include music, cast, locations, travel, lodging, food, etc.. Please message us with any questions. Can help with Kickstarter, for add. funds. Each submission is good for up to 4 photos or 2 minutes of footage.
