SUBMISSIONS

Submissions open to filmmakers who are current UNCC students.

FILMMAKERS MUST SUBMIT WORK USING A UNCC-AFFILIATED EMAIL ADDRESS (.edu, etc.) OR BE ABLE TO PROVE CURRENT STUDENT STATUS (may require documentation, student ID, etc.).

Filmmakers may submit as many films in as many categories as they like.

Submissions will be accepted digitally through FilmFreeway. Mailed/physical submissions will not be accepted.

Submissions in all film categories (Animation, Documentary, Experimental, Music Video, Narrative) have a 12 minute cap.

Any films that do not meet the above criteria will NOT be considered for selection.

Films that employ the use of another language for more than 1/3 of total running time must use English subtitles during non-English-speaking parts OR an English dub over the foreign language.

Both the UNCCFC and the GRSFF do not discriminate in admissions, access to, or operation of their programs and activities on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, creed, ethnicity, disability, age, marital status, sex/gender, sexual orientation, veteran status, or any other legally protected status.

The UNCC Student Film Showcase and its affiliates assume no responsibility for screening submissions for potential copyright infringements, or for denying a film's acceptance into the festival based on the possibility of such an infringement. If, in the case that the filmmaker responsible for an infringement is caught as a result of his/her work being exhibited at the festival, no legal action may be taken against the UNCC Student Film Showcase, its parent institution, or its organizers, including the students in UNC Charlotte's "Film Festivals: Theory and Practice" course.

NOTIFICATION

Filmmakers whose works have been selected for the lineup in the 3rd Annual UNCC Student Film Showcase will be notified via email (to the address provided on the entry form) of this selection by March 30. If you receive an email notifying you of our selection, PLEASE RESPOND to confirm our email was sent successfully.

**Disclaimer: As an official selection of the UNCC Student Film Showcase, the festival reserves the right to use your material(s) to promote or advertise the event or any affiliated events thereof unless you specifically request your work not be used in this context. Examples of use may include, but are not limited to: clips and/or photos from your film, or excerpts from your screenplay.

If you have submitted to the festival and have not received an email by this date, your work was not selected. Do not take this as an indication of poor quality. Rather, the submitted work was simply not the best fit for the UNCC SFS. Do not be discouraged; we strongly encourage you to submit again next year!
