About the festival

TimeShare: A Night of Screenings is the pinnacle evening of TimeShare, a multifaceted exhibition, celebrating the dynamic intersection of art and technology and is a community-wide digital arts engagement opportunity with a unifying theme of looking toward the future. By exhibiting artworks that are forward thinking, TimeShare is asking the community to explore arts and technological developments of the past and present while celebrating future artistic progress. This exhibition brings together artists and cultural producers who are grappling with the collision of technology and art with a sense of wonder and curiosity.

Existing as a concurrently held series of exhibitions across the City of Lakewood’s five galleries, featuring innovative work in experimental/new, digital or time-based mediums, TimeShare showcases video, 3D and animated shorts, web series, soundscapes, digitally enhanced performances, mobile media, apps, and experimental photography. The Festival is punctuated by evenings of Art Tours and First Fridays through 40W Arts District associated galleries and a singular night of screenings with accompanying moderated discussions between RMCAD students and participating artists at the LCC Theater.

During the TImeShare: A Night of Screenings, up to 15 juried artists will present their less than 15 minute new or time-based work in the Lakewood Cultural Center’s 320 seat theater and their work will participate in a panel dialogue about the screenings as facilitated by the New Genre Collective.

Each artist chosen for the screening will receive $200.00 for their participation.
