Our tagline is “What’s Your Culture?”. Cannabis has been and will be an even larger part of our entire world-wide culture as we all recognize its many values: from agriculture to counter-culture, art, food, film, music, hemp, medicine, recreation and more.
With an ever-increasing diversity of people proclaiming its many virtues – from the fun and recreational to the medicinal, throughout college dorms to nursing homes, cannabis culture is evolving into the mainstream. Yet it’s not without debate. Social attitudes, legal opinions, political agendas and medical research often collide.
This new film festival takes on the debate with a progressive attitude towards eroding stereotypes and clichés to discover the life-enhancing potential of this remarkable yet controversial plant.
The festival will include feature films, shorts, and documentaries that will be open to global submissions with emphasis on the positive and life-enhancing aspects of cannabis. Speakers, panel discussions, State and local regulatory guidelines, and social gatherings will all be part of the mix.
The Palm Springs Cannabis Film Festival and Summit is a program of the Palm Springs Cultural Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to advancing education, to nurturing community-wide participation in the cultural arts, and to sponsoring scholarship awards for deserving individuals.
