Rules and Regulations for film submissions
GIFLIF - Season 2018
Entries at GIFLIF Gurgaon chapter are open for film-makers from across the globe.
1. FILM CATEGORIES
(a) Documentaries (Maximum Length: 45 minutes)
(b) Short Films (Maximum Length: 45 minutes)
(c) Animation Films (Maximum Length: 45 minutes)
(d) Experimental Films (Maximum Length: 45 minutes)
(e) Feature Films (Maximum Length: 90 minutes)
2. AWARDS
GIFLIF is a competitive festival with cash awards & trophies. Films would be selected/ awarded at the sole discretion of GIFLIF Jury. All the winners ( cash and non-cash awards) shall be given a certificate and GIFLIF-trophy.
Following are the cash awards at GIFLIF, Gurgaon chapter, 2016

⇒ Best Documentary - $350
⇒ Best Short Film - $350
⇒ Best Experimental - $350
Following are the awards without cash prize.

3. SUBTITLES
Films can be with dialogue or silent. Films, irrespective of their language, must have English subtitles.
4. SUBMITTING YOUR FILM
We receive film submissions only through FilmFreeway.
5. Participants can send multiple entries. However, separate submission procedure has to be followed for each entry.
6. Once entered, films cannot be withdrawn from participation at GIFLIF under any circumstances.
7. By submitting a film to GIFLIF, the submitter takes the whole responsibility of copyright issues of music, script and other creative and technical aspects of the film. He/she accepts the responsibility for the accuracy of the information supplied and authorizes GIFLIF to reproduce & use personal/company’s contact information as supplied. The submitter confirms that he/she has the requisite authority or has obtained the requisite authority from the producer / right holder / concerned authorities to enter, screen and publicize the film in GIFLIF and make available the print for screening. GIFLIF is not responsible /answerable to any copyright/legal issues regarding the submitted film.
8. Notification of selected films will be announced on website/ social media platforms as per schedule. However, the festival committee reserves right to change the date, accept or refuse any film without assigning any reason whatsoever.
9. Filmmakers/ delegates of shortlisted films will be invited to attend the festival. However, the festival will not arrange or reimburse for travel/ stay expenses of the participants attending the festival.
10. Festival organizers, programmers and jury panel shall determine selections and award winners at their sole discretion. The decision of GIFLIF festival authorities regarding all matters not expressly provided for, in these rules and regulations or which require interpretation of the clauses mentioned above shall be final and cannot be challenged.
11. Though we will be doing our best efforts and arrangements to screen selected films in topmost commercial quality during the event, we cannot guarantee a commercial cinema hall display or effects, as screening may be held in an auditorium (which is of course designed for world-class events).
12. Shipping and Insurance: All costs relative to shipment of film, publicity, promotional and photographic material to and from GIFLIF will be at the expense of participants.
