Submission Requirements

===SCRIPTS===

The Crime List accepts feature screenplays, shorts, and television scripts in all genres. Script may be produced, unproduced or optioned. Each submission entry requires:

SCREENPLAY or TELEPLAY: Feature screenplays must not exceed 135 pages. Television scripts and shorts must not exceed 75 pages.

LOGLINE: A brief description of your script’s story (up to 50 words).

WRITER’S BIO: A Writer’s Bio may include background, resume, accolades, training, experience, as well as any upcoming projects. Bios should be written in the third person.

===FILMS===

The Crime List accepts narrative and documentary features and shorts (including web episodes) in all genres. Films may have distribution and be available online. Each submission entry requires:

ONLINE SCREENER & PASSWORD: We accept submissions through FilmFreeway, which allows filmmakers to upload their projects directly to the platform or provide a link with a password to the protected video on Vimeo or YouTube. (Rest-assured, the showcase will maintain the privacy of your screener.)

LOGLINE / SYNOPSIS: A brief description of your film or web series (up to 50 words).

DIRECTOR’S BIO & STATEMENT: A Director’s Bio (may include background, resume, accolades, training, experience, as well as any upcoming projects), and a Director’s Statement about the film.

WRITER’S BIO & STATEMENT: A Writer’s Bio (may include background, resume, accolades, training, experience, as well as any upcoming projects), and a Writer’s Statement about the film.

===BOOKS / MANUSCRIPTS===

The Crime List accepts published books and unpublished manuscripts in all genres. Each submission entry requires:

MANUSCRIPT: Book manuscript submitted in pdf format.

LOGLINE: A brief description of your story (up to 50 words).

AUTHOR’S BIO: An Author’s Bio may include background, resume, accolades, training, experience, as well as any upcoming projects. Bios should be written in the third person.

* Entrant(s) must be 18 years of age or older.
* All entries must be in English.
* ALL genres are eligible.
* All script entries must be submitted in PDF format. No exceptions.
* Title Page: Include title and writer’s name.
* Scripts must be in standard screenplay format. No exceptions.
* Feature screenplays must be between 85 and 120 pages. Television scripts must be between 20 and 60 pages. Web series and shorts may be up to 25 pages.
* Both produced and un-produced scripts are eligible.
* Both represented and non-represented writers are eligible.
* Teams of up to two writers are eligible.
* Scripts that have previously won a competition are eligible.
* Substitutions of corrected pages, revised material, or new drafts, require a new entry and payment.
* We DO NOT offer deadline extensions.
* We DO NOT offer fee waivers or discounts.
* WE DO NOT RESPOND TO REQUESTS FOR FEE WAIVERS, OR DISCOUNTS, OR DEADLINE EXTENSIONS.
* We DO NOT offer individual feedback on script submissions.
* All submission payments are final. We do not provide refunds.
* By submitting a script you confirm that you own the rights to the material submitted.
* By submitting a script you confirm that you have read and agree to our eligibility and rules. Judges decisions are final.

=== FILMS ===
* Entrant(s) must be 18 years of age or older.
* We accept feature films up to 135 minutes in length and short films up to 40 minutes in length (including credits).
* All entries must be in English. If a film is not in English, it must include English language subtitles.
* Features, Shorts, and Web Series in ALL genres are accepted.
* We accept Documentary and Narrative Features, Shorts, and Web Series (including live action and animation).
* Multiple films are accepted. Each submission requires a separate entry.
* Films that contain explicit language, violence, and nudity will be accepted. Be sure to indicate if your film contains explicit language, violence, and/or nudity on the entry form.
* Films that have been produced within the last 5 years are eligible.
* Films that have previously won a festival are eligible.
* Films that have distribution are eligible.
* We DO NOT offer deadline extensions.
* We DO NOT offer fee waivers or discounts.
* WE DO NOT RESPOND TO REQUESTS FOR FEE WAIVERS, OR DISCOUNTS, OR DEADLINE EXTENSIONS.
