Tattoo Arts Film Festival is a ground-breaking first in the Film-making and Tattoo communities and Canada alike, as Canada's first-ever Tattoo genre Film Festival; penciled in for April 4 - 5 2015 and hosted by The Roxy Theatre in Saskatoon.

Tattoo has undoubtedly become a widespread phenomenon, with a large and unavoidable global discussion having been started on the ever-evolving Art form of Tattoo; with Film being more frequently adopted as one of the many tools to initiate discussion in the global forum about on the topic of Tattoo. The taboos of old are long since buried and Film-makers are far more prepared to sink their teeth into this Inky affair than ever before.

Tattoo Arts Film Festival aims to herald Films of all sorts, from Fiction to Documentaries to Music Videos to Features, to a receptive, modern and relevant audience in a City known for fostering both a reputable and note-worthy presence of a Film-making, Tattoo and Art communities alike.

Founded by Tattoo collector and Film-maker Mark A Allard, hosted by The Roxy Theatre and powered by Magic Lantern Theatres, Tattoo Arts Film Festival is set to break ground in 2015.

Terms and rules

All Films submitted into any category of Tattoo Arts Film Festival must convey a theme of Tattoo and it's related Art forms as a direct narrative of the Film; regardless of if your Film is a Documentary, a work of Fiction, an Alternative Film or even a Music Video.

Short Documentary category will be regarded as 45 minutes or less in total runtime.

Feature Documentary category will be regarded as between 45 minutes and 120 minutes in total runtime.

Music Video category will be open to all genres of Music and will be regarded as under 10 minutes in total runtime.

Fiction and Alternative category will be open to all genres, with a maximum of 120 minutes in total runtime.

If successfully accepted into the festival, Film-makers of chosen Films will be invited to attend and participate in Q&A sessions in-front of the public and attending press and media; however, attendance is not compulsory. Travel and accommodation is the responsibility of the attending Film-makers and not the venue or festival organisers. If accepted into the festival, you are thereby accepting that your Film will be screened to an audience of attending public and local, national and potentially international press; this may include being open to critique by the press, you therefore accept that the festival organisers, the host venue or related company cannot be held responsible for the opinions of attending press and media.

Foreign language Films are eligible, but MUST contain English subtitles.

By submitting to Tattoo Arts Film Festival, you accept that screeners and submission copies will not be returned by the festival organisers; unless prepaid postage is included by yourself.

Accepted Film-makers will be asked to submit their final screeners as a full quality digital file ready for conversion into DCPs for Digital Projection.
