ELIGIBILITY:
The Taiwanese American Film Festival accepts original short film projects by filmmakers of Taiwanese descent. Projects must be an original film that includes major Taiwanese or Taiwanese American elements, including subject matter, writers, directors, and principal cast. Adaptations are not eligible unless the original idea is your own in an alternative format. All genres (including but not limited to animation, narrative, documentary) are eligible for consideration.
Currently, we are accepting short films under 25 mins in length that have been produced after January 1, 2019.

EXHIBITION FORMATS:
All invited short films will be screened on our partner online platform.
Only digital formats. Quicktime file, D- Cinema (DCP) with required .MOV file conforming to Apple ProRes 422 HQ (1920 x 1080 24p 48 kHz)
35mm film, HDCam, Mini DV, Digibeta, Blu-ray, and DVD are NOT acceptable for exhibition.
Exhibition formats of invited entries must be sent to the Festival to arrive by Oct 1, 2020.

If your entry is selected for exhibition, the Festival will also request the following optional materials to maximize exposure for your film: promotional graphics, press materials, trailer, etc.

Invited entries in language(s) other than English MUST have legible English subtitles.

SCREENING FEES:
The Festival does not pay screening fees. Instead, we choose to invest our resources in producing the best possible showcase for your work, and promoting your work as widely as possible.
