The SicilyFarm Film Festival was created with the intention of bringing a cinema elite outdoors in the heart of Sicily, in two extraordinary places like Farm Cultural Park and the striking Valley of the Temples in Agrigento. The themes in the works of filmmakers from around the world are manifold: Rural development in the poorest countries, welcome, people and places that seek to change the world, cultural and technological innovation.
The Va Edition SicilyFarm Film Festival is the production of short films capable of telling, with little discounted languages, "stories of change" exciting and engaging.
The Main Partner of the Festival is the IFAD, an international financial institution and a specialized agency of the United Nations based in Rome. IFAD invests in rural people, putting them in a position to reduce poverty, increase food security, improve power quality and strengthen their resilience. IFAD provides to countries at concessional rates and donations development loans. also it mobilizes financing from some of its member states by developing countries and the beneficiaries of the projects. The Archaeological Park and scenic Valley of the Temples is covering some 1300 hectares and here belong the remains of the ancient city of Akragas and the surrounding area to the sea. The Valley of the Temples was declared in 1997 by UNESCO "World Heritage Site." Today the Valley of the Temples has more than one million visitors a year.

The goal is not only to raise awareness of the common opinion of those people and those places that are rethinking our future, but also to promote proactive behavior with respect to the transformation of our society.

SicilyFarm Film Festival will take place from August 19 to August 22 at Farm Cultural Park – Favara and Valle dei Templi – Agrigento.

CATEGORIES OF SELECTED WORKS
There are seven categories selected for the festival, just like the number of courtyards involved during the Festival period. The different themes will give more space to many more artists within the festival.
Only works created from January 1st 2018 will be accepted.
The categories are as follows:
• Short theme free: Section dedicated to short films that narrate fictional films or videos without preclusions of styles, genres and techniques of realization. The maximum duration will be 20 minutes including the opening and closing credits.
• Short / Documentary IFAD Theme: Section dedicated to short films / documentaries that tell stories on agricultural and rural development in rural areas of the Middle East, North Africa and Europe in which IFAD. It requires focus on nutrition and food security, agriculture, climate and environment, gender inequalities in rural areas, nutrition, rural youth and indigenous peoples.
La durata massima delle opere sarà di 20’ compresi i titoli di testa e coda.
• Short-documentary (DocuFarm): Section dedicated to authors who dedicate their art to documentary language, without preclusions of styles, genres and techniques of realization. The maximum duration will be 20 minutes including the opening and closing credits.
• Videoclip (FarmClip): Section dedicated to artists and directors who make music videos, a very different film language from the other sections. This space will give space to both the authors and the bands presented. The maximum duration will be 6' including the opening and closing credits.
• Farm Animation: Section dedicated to all the short films realized with the animation technique. Each theme and every type of story is part of the parameters as long as it is told with the animation. The maximum duration of the works will be 10' including the opening and closing credits.

Il SicilyFarm Film Festival nasce con l’intento di portare un cinema d’elìte all’aperto nel cuore della Sicilia, in due luoghi straordinari come Farm Cultural Park e la suggestiva Valle dei Templi di Agrigento. Le tematiche affrontate nelle opere dei registi di tutto il mondo sono molteplici: lo sviluppo rurale dei paesi più poveri, l’accoglienza, persone e luoghi che cercano di cambiare il mondo, l’innovazione culturale e tecnologica.
La Va Edizione del SicilyFarm Film Festival è rivolta alla produzione di cortometraggi capaci di raccontare, con linguaggi poco scontati, “storie di cambiamento” emozionanti e coinvolgenti.
Il Main Partner del Festival è l’IFAD, un’istituzione finanziaria internazionale e un’agenzia specializzata delle Nazione Unite con sede a Roma. L’IFAD investe sulle popolazioni rurali, mettendole in condizione di ridurre la povertà, aumentare la sicurezza alimentare, migliorare la qualità dell’alimentazione e rafforzare la loro capacità di resilienza. L’IFAD fornisce ai paesi in via di sviluppo prestiti a tassi agevolati e donazioni. Il Parco Archeologico e paesaggistico Valle dei Templi è ampio circa 1300 ettari e qui appartengono i resti dell’antica città di Akragas e il territorio circostante sino al mare. La Valle dei Templi è stata dichiarata nel 1997 dall’Unesco “Patrimonio Mondiale dell’Umanità”. Oggi la Valle dei Templi conta più di un milione di visitatori l’anno.
Farm Cultural Park è un Centro Culturale Indipendente nato 9 anni fa ed è oggi uno straordinario esempio di sviluppo territoriale durevole e sostenibile. www.farmculturalpark.com
L’obiettivo è non solo quello di sensibilizzare l’opinione comune su quelle persone e quei luoghi che stanno ripensando il nostro futuro, ma anche di promuovere comportamenti proattivi rispetto alla trasformazione della nostra società.

SicilyFarm Film Festival si svolgerà dal 19 al 22 Agosto. Il 19 e 20 Agosto a Farm Cultural Park – Favara, il 21 e 22 alla Valle dei Templi di Agrigento
La scadenza del bando sarà il 15 Giugno 2020 alle ore 23:59.
CATEGORIE DELLE OPERE SELEZIONATE
Le categorie selezionate per il festival sono cinque. Le diverse tematiche daranno più spazio a molti più artisti all’interno del festival.
Si accettano solo opere realizzate a partire dall’ Gennaio 2018.
Le categorie sono le seguenti:
• Corto a tema libero: Sezione dedicata ai cortometraggi che narrano film o video di finzione senza preclusioni di stili, generi e tecniche di realizzazione. La durata massima sarà di 20’ compresi i titoli di testa e coda.
• Corto/Documentario a tema (IFAD): Sezione dedicata ai cortometraggi che narrano film, documentari o video di finzione che narrano i paesi più poveri attraverso le questioni agricole/rurali, la sicurezza alimentare, il clima e l’ambiente, le popolazioni indigene ed un particolare focus verrà effettuato sui paesi coperti dalla Divisione NEN dell’IFAD.
La durata massima delle opere sarà di 20’ compresi i titoli di testa e coda.
• Documentario: Sezione dedicata agli autori che dedicano la propria arte al linguaggio documentaristico, senza preclusioni di stili, generi e tecniche di realizzazione. La durata massima sarà di 20’ compresi i titoli di testa e coda.
• Videoclip: Sezione dedicata agli artisti e registi che realizzano videoclip musicali, un linguaggio cinematografico molto differente dalle altre sezioni. Questo spazio darà spazio sia agli autori che alle band presentate. La durata massima sarà di 6’ inclusi i titoli di testa e coda.
• Corto d’animazione: Sezione dedicata a tutti i cortometraggi realizzati con la tecnica dell’animazione. Ogni tematica ed ogni tipo di racconto rientra nei parametri purchè venga raccontato con l’animazione. La durata massima delle opere sarà di 10’ compresi i titoli di testa e coda.
