About the festival

The Shorts at the Seaside film festival is open to students and all film makers.

There will be 3 categories to enter with the main theme of the festival being deckchair based short films.

Category 1 - Short films between 2 and 10 minutes for people aged under 25 on the day of the festival. Films must show a deckchair in them for at least 20 seconds.

Category 2 - Short films between 2 and 10 minutes for people aged 25 or over on the day of the festival. Films must show a deckchair in them for at least 20 seconds.

Category 3 - Short films between 2 and 10 minutes. This category is open to any age range and any theme.

All categories will be shortlisted down to 6 and shown on the day with a winner chosen by a panel of judges.

There will be guest speakers from the film industry who will talk and answer your questions.

All winners will also have their short film shown before regular showings at the cinema over the following month.

The day of the event will be open to anyone to attend with free entry.

There is a small charge of £5 for each film entry.

There will be a cash prize of £100 for the winner of each category.

All films must be the entrants sole property and any music used must be royalty free or used with the composers consent.
Each entry must fall into one of the 3 categories
Under 25's showing a deckchair in the film for at least 20 seconds
25's and over showing a deckchair in the film for at least 20 seconds.
Any age and any theme.
All films must be between 2 and 10 minutes in length.
