About the festival

"Shanghai Shorts" is a monthly one-off screening series of time based art and film that takes place every month in the beautiful international city of Shanghai, China. The thriving art scene in Shanghai provides a perfectly cinematic setting for sharing art, film and time based media of all categories and genres.

The screenings take place at Museum of Creative Minds in the Huangpu District of Shanghai, walking distance from the Power Station of Art. The Museum of Creative Minds is a multi-disciplinary art space. It functions as a gallery with both monthly art exhibitions and seasonal pop-up exhibitions and market places, a meeting place for workshops and educational lectures, and organizes parties with live painting, live music and other performance art.

The curator Jaime Ekkens is an Asian-American Expat who spent 10+ living in New York City working in television and media before relocating to Shanghai, China to pursue her art career.
