Short film submissions under 360 seconds will be accepted in any category, genre or niche. *No need to submit in more than one category. We will consider your submissions in all appropriate categories.

Short film submissions between 6 and 30 minutes will be accepted. Films under 6 minutes should be submitted in the Short Shorts category. *No need to submit in more than one category. We will consider your submissions in all appropriate categories.

Documentary short film submissions between 6 and 30 minutes will be accepted. Films under 6 minutes should be submitted in the Short Shorts category. *No need to submit in more than one category. We will consider your submissions in all appropriate categories.

Animated short film submissions between 6 and 30 minutes. Films under 6 minutes should be submitted in the Short Shorts category for the discounted rate. *No need to submit in more than one category. We will consider your submissions in all appropriate categories.

Comedy short film submissions between 6 and 30 minutes. Films under 6 minutes should be submitted in the Short Shorts category. *No need to submit in more than one category. We will consider your submissions in all appropriate categories.

Short film submissions with LGBT themes between 6 and 30 minutes. Films under 6 minutes should be submitted in the Short Shorts category. *No need to submit in more than one category. We will consider your submissions in all appropriate categories.

Horror short film submissions between 6 and 30 minutes. Films under 6 minutes should be submitted in the Short Shorts category. *No need to submit in more than one category. We will consider your submissions in all appropriate categories.

Sci-Fi short film submissions between 6 and 30 minutes. Films under 6 minutes should be submitted in the Short Shorts category. *No need to submit in more than one category. We will consider your submissions in all appropriate categories.

**This is for the US states of Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut only** SENE limits narrative feature submissions to films which are either produced by filmmakers currently based in Rhode Island, Massachusetts or Connecticut, filmed substantially in Rhode Island, Massachusetts or Connecticut, or where the subject matter has a strong connection to Rhode Island, Massachusetts or Connecticut that would specifically interest an audience from those states. Narrative submissions greater than 30 minutes accepted in any genre or niche. We prefer narrative features less than 100 minutes.

**This is for the US states of Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut only** SENE limits documentary feature submissions to films which are either produced by filmmakers currently based in Rhode Island, Massachusetts or Connecticut, filmed substantially in Rhode Island, Massachusetts or Connecticut, or where the subject matter has a strong connection to Rhode Island, Massachusetts or Connecticut that would specifically interest an audience from those states. Documentary submissions longer than 30 minutes. We prefer documentary features less than 90 minutes.

•Short screenplays must be 45 pages or less •Submitted screenplays must be original •Screenplays must be the sole property of the applicant •Screenplays that are optioned, produced or purchased before the end of the judging period will no longer be eligible •Judges, readers and SENE staff and their immediate family are not eligible. •Screenplays submitted under a pen name will be disqualified. •There are only 2 rounds of judging: Finalists and Award Winners. The screenplay committee will read and score all scripts and announce the Finalists. The screenplay jury will read and score all Finalists and announce the top 3 (first, second and third place) Award Winners.

•Feature screenplays must be 46 to 130 pages •Submitted screenplays must be original •Screenplays must be the sole property of the applicant •Screenplays that are optioned, produced or purchased before the end of the judging period will no longer be eligible •Judges, readers and SENE staff and their immediate family are not eligible. •Screenplays submitted under a pen name will be disqualified. •There are only 2 rounds of judging: Finalists and Award Winners.
