About the festival

Dear Filmmakers
At the outset we hope you are keeping in good health, safe at home wherever you are in the world.

These past few weeks have been unlike anything we’ve all experienced before, and like many film festivals and arts organizations around the world the RIFFA team has been in deep discussions with regards to how to move forward with operations this year.

Given the wide-reaching impacts of COVID-19 on both the Regina, Canadian and global communities the RIFFA team has made the difficult decision not to host a 2020 festival.
Instead we will continue planning to bring you the 5th edition of the Regina International Film Festival in 2021.

This was not an easy decision to make on our end, however RIFFA is an organization that believes in uniting filmmakers and cinephiles from both Canada and around the world and we look forward to doing so at a time when artists will be free to travel to our festival without encumbrance & the Regina community can gather in full, in good health.

Please rest assured that all those who submitted films for consideration for the 2020 festival will be refunded their fees via FilmFreeway in the coming weeks. We hope you will consider submitting your work again once we open submissions for the 2021 festival.
We are all in this together, and the RIFFA team looks forward to hosting your works and gathering with you again at our next festival in 2021.

Thank you,
The RIFFA Team
