The winner of the Queer Vision Best of British will be entered into the Iris Prize Best British Short – where the winner will receive a package of sound post-production services sponsored by Pinewood Studios Group, valued at £20,000, and the winner invited to Cardiff to sit on the 2021 Iris Prize Best British Jury;
1. All entries should be by, for, about or of significant interest to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, non-binary or intersex audiences, and must have been completed within 2 years prior to the Iris Prize 2020 submission deadline (That is they must have been completed since 22 June 2018).
2. All short films must having a running time of 39 minutes or less.
3. All submissions must agree to and abide by the rules & terms of the the 2020 Best British Iris Prize LGBT+ Film Festival (www.irisprize.org/festival/submissions/terms-conditions/). To be eligible you should be a UK citizen or have been resident in the UK for at least three consecutive years prior to submitting your film.
4. FILM FORMAT: DCP (preferred), .MOV, .MPEG. We ONLY accept on-line screeners via FilmFreeway secure screener. We do not accept DVDs/Blu-Rays.
5. PRESS KIT: A digital press kit will be required after acceptance.
6. Queer Vision aim to make their screenings as accessible as possible. By submitting your film to Queer Vision Film Festival it is on the agreement that the film may be shown with Descriptive Subtitling to make the screening accessible to Deaf/deaf and hearing-impaired audience members. Where possible a transcript of the film may be requested after acceptance.
7. The juries will comprise of Queer Vision programmers and invited film professionals. The decision of the juries, the festival and the audience will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
8. Successful entrants will be informed that their work has been shortlisted by 15 May 2020. Please do not enquire about acceptance until then.
9. Queer Vision Festival takes place in Bristol, England. All terms and conditions will be interpreted according to the laws of England and Wales.
