2019 edition
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS AND REGULATIONS
Third edition of Giulio Questi Prize for short films dedicated to the Italian filmmaker.
The Prize is organized by the Association Premio Giulio Questi.
Article 1 The Competition
The Prize is for Italian and foreign filmmakers aged between 18 and 27 on the date that the deadline for submissions expires.
In cases of a collective work, all of the filmmakers must fulfill the above age requirements.
Article 2 Works
The Giulio Questi Prize selects short narrative works whose running time is between 3 and 15 minutes. The submitted works must be in a digital format.
Works produced before the Prize may have participated in other competitions or awards.
The competition is also open to works not in the Italian language provided that they are accompanied by subtitles in Italian.
Every filmmaker may submit just one work for the competition.
Article 3 The Prize
The winner will be awarded the Giulio Questi Prize of 1,500 euros.
Article 4 How to Participate
Participants must register by and no later than 2019 November 10 exclusively online using FilmFreeway platform (https://filmfreeway.com/festival/PremioGiulioQuesti).
Article 5 Judging of the Works
The works will be judged by a Jury consisting of professionals from the world of cinema and culture.
After assessing the submitted works the Jury, at its absolute discretion, will shortlist up to a maximum of 5 finalists.
The list of the finalists will be published on www.premioquesti.it and in the press. The organizers of the Prize will contact solely the finalists by telephone or e-mail using the contact details provided in the submission form.
The Jury may select more than one winner ex aequo or not award the Prize at all. The Jury’s decision is final.
The 5 shortlisted works for the final will be presented to the public on 4 December 2019 in Rome. On that occasion the winner of the Giulio Questi Prize will be announced and the 1,500 euros awarded.
Article 6 Acceptance of the Call for Submissions and Regulations
By submitting the work the filmmaker and all the rights holders accept all of the provisions of this Call for Submissions and the associated Regulations herein contained.
The filmmaker and all the rights holders irrevocably waive all and any claims, action or demands against the organizers of the Prize, the Jury and all persons in any way involved in the Prize and exonerates them from any liability in that regard.
A failure to observe the rules set out herein governing participation in the competition or the submission of the works shall be a ground for exclusion from the Prize.
The participants hereby give their consent pursuant to Legislative Decree No. 196/2003 on the protection of privacy for the purposes of processing their personal data for all initiatives in connection with the Prize.
Article 7 Obligations for Finalists and the Winner
The finalists undertake to include the wording “Giulio Questi Prize 2019 finalist” in material publicizing their works.
The winner shall include the wording “Giulio Questi Prize 2019 Winner” in material publicizing their work.
The finalists and the winner authorize the organizers of the Prize to disseminate information and images relating to their works in material publicizing the Prize through the press and any other channels that may prove necessary.
