2. CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION
The competition is open to directors and production firms that present shorts made in film and/or digital format. The registration must be received within March 15th 2020. Works must be sent via:
- e-mail to info@pratofilmfestival.it including short film link
- FilmFreeway at https://filmfreeway.com/PratoFilmFestival;
The longest duration admitted for short films is twenty minutes; the oldest production year admitted is 2018. Each participant can send one work per section at the most (except for Artistic Direction’s decision).
3. SHORT FILMS
Selection:
The secretariat will communicate the final participation within March 30. 2020.
After receiving this communication, within 15 days each author must send a copy of the film – along with the regulation signed and the technical form completely filled- with the following features:
Quicktime.mov file (Apple ProRes) or H264 (bitrate has not to be lower than 25Mbps)
1080p resolution or higher
24 or 25 Fps
Audio stereo 44100 Hz or higher
Files can be sent tru’ FTP given by you or available files-sharing platforms (free) such as wetransfer, yousendit, mediafire, dropbox, etc.etc to: info@pratofilmfestival.it
Works given in one of the above mentioned formats must be without subtitles except for those with Italian subtitles. Works in a foreign language should preferably be subtitled in Italian. Otherwise, enclose the electronic subtitle file in Italian or English in .srt or Adobe Encore .txt format with relative minutes.
THE TECHNICAL FORM MUST BE FILLED IN CLEARLY AND LEGIBLE, UNDER PAIN OF EXCLUSION.
4. SELECTION AND AWARDS
A commission appointed by the festival artistic director will meet to select the works sent. The shorts selected will be communicated to the author/production firm by e-mail. All the works that will arrive after March 15th 2020 will be taken into consideration for the next edition.
A jury of experts, nominated by the festival artistic director, will meet within 31st March 2020 and will consider and judge the selected works and will award the following prizes:

• Section: Short Italy Best Short Film
• Section: Environment Best Short Film
The response of the jury is indisputable.
5. GENERAL CONDITIONS
a) Each author will be considered responsible for the content of the presented film; in no case, neither the organizers nor the jury will be.
b) Definite dates and/or locations choice is at the discretion of the festival art direction.
c) Within April 10th 2020 the winners will be informed about the prizes and they have to confirm their presence within 15 days.
d) Accomodation is foreseen only for the winners (half-board and lodging, one night in a single/double room). Transport expenses (flight, car, train, etc…) will not be refunded.
e) The festival invites all the winners to be present during the award cerimony. If this is not possible, their absence is considered as a waiver to the award, and the festival organization will be entitled to reward the second work on the list designated by the jury. For information contact the secretariat of the festival.
f) Through this regulation signature, the Author allows Events Production to publish photos and news concerning its own works on daily, weekly and monthly publications and festival catalogue, in order to promote the festival.
g) Besides, the Authort allows Events Production to show 2/3 minutes of the film during other national/international movie screenings, also through tv and internet, against no reward.
h) The author prohibits the use of its own works in a context that could compromise its own dignity, exonerating Events Production henceforth from any responsability in case of an improper use of its works by third parties.
i) The Festival management is not responsible for theft, damages or loss of works. For further information please contact the Secretariat.
j) The participation in the competition implies the full acceptance and respect of this regulation in every part of its.
k) This regulation is written in Italian and English: in case of linguistic misunderstanding about the translation, the Italian language will have the prevalence.
l) Your data will be kept according to the Italian law and GDPR EU 2016/679. Person in charge Romeo Conte.
m) Should any dispute arise between the parties, the only authorized court is the one of Prato, without fail.
