Full of lust and passion, sexuality is colorful, sometimes loud, sometimes quiet, multifaceted and in continuous motion. It should be free of stigmas, gender roles or agism Rather, it should touch people and creates space for encounters, it is intimate and exciting, because sexuality is communication.
We understand sexuality in film as a cultural product and phenomenon that can be more than pure stimulation - a form of politics, criticism and protest. With the film art festival Porny Days we use sexuality in film, music, performance, poetry as an activist and subcultural practice and as an artistic strategy to question social norms around sexuality and the body beyond the mainstream.
True to David Reuben's classic book "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex * But Were Afraid to Ask " we love art that give us new insights on topics like sexual liberation, erotic fantasies, BDSM, sexual shame, cultural sexual diffrences, the "new" prudery, the impact of the internet on our sexuality and sex work.
The discourse with the filmmakers and actors is very important to us. Therefore we try to invite as many protagonists and directors as possible to our festival and thus offer the audience the opportunity for a dialogue.
Porny Days have a competitive short film section where the jury awards the "Porny Award" and the "Special Mention". This section accepts fiction, documentaries and animations.
There is a €500 cash prize for the winning film.
