ELIGIBILITY:
The Philadelphia Environmental Film Festival (PHEFF) is a platform for showcasing the best new environmental features and shorts of all styles and subjects. We seek compelling stories that explore the planet and environment. All topics and styles of environmental films will be considered.
Films must be completed after November 2019..
All submissions must be made via FilmFreeway.
FEATURES include films with runtimes greater than 45 minutes.
SHORTS include films with runtimes 25 minutes or less, with a STRONG PREFERENCE for shorts UNDER 10 MINUTES.
SCREENER FORMAT:
PHEFF requires an online screener submitted through FilmFreeway. Passwords for private links must not expire before August 2, 2021.
SELECTION NOTIFICATION
All entrants will receive notification by August 2, 2021, via FilmFreeway.
ACCEPTED FEATURE FILM FORMAT DELIVERY:
Accepted Feature films MUST be delivered on Blu-ray DVD, with a 2nd Blu-ray back-up. Contact and address will be provided. DCP is NOT an accepted format.
ACCEPTED SHORT FILM DIGITAL DELIVERY:
Accepted Short films must be delivered via .mp4 or .mov digital files.
TRAILERS:
Trailers for accepted films are due by August 9, 2021.
.mp4 or .mov file, no less than :30 and no longer than 2:00. An ONLINE LINK to the film's trailer on YouTube or Vimeo.
DIGITAL PUBLICITY MATERIALS: High resolution stills (.jpeg300dpi) and 2 versions of synopsis. One synopsis, not more that 200 words and 1100 characters. Another synopsis, 140 characters or less for social media.
SHIPPING
You will be required to pay for shipping of your film materials for screening in the Festival. PHEFF will pay for the return shipping only.
While the utmost care is taken in handling every submission, PHEFF is not responsible for loss or damage of film media.
RIGHTS & RELEASES:
By submitting a film to us:
(1) you represent and warrant that you own or control the film's copyright and are duly authorized to submit the film to PHEFF and to grant the license in #2 below;
(2) you grant PHEFF a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual, royalty-free right and license to use and display the film and graphics/images (both still and moving) from the film (collectively the "Content") for the purpose of (i) showing the film one or more times during the annual festival and/or other PHEFF programs, and (ii) promoting PHEFF on its website, in marketing and promotional materials, and in its social media, and (iii) helping with non-profit outreach activities outside of the Festival. Our use of your content in this manner does not grant PHEFF any ownership of your copyright or intellectual property; and
(3) you represent and warrant that the film contains no material that could result in legal claims (including without limitation tort claims, royalty claims, and claims for breach of contract), and that you will hold PHEFF and its partners and agents harmless from any claims connected with the film, and that you will bear the cost of all legal fees incurred as a result of the defense of such a claim.
