About the festival

The Phenicien International Film Festival's mission is to celebrate the motion picture and provide a platform for filmmakers to have their work awarded and screened.

The Phenicien International Film Festival is an Independent film festival with live screenings in Lyon "France"

The PIFF offers more than just an award , our festival offers the possibility for your work to be screened in the city where cinema was born, the City of “Les frères Lumière”. For cinema-lovers, this is where it all began, as the Cinematographe was born rue du Premier-Film, in the heart of Lyon.

Furthermore, thanks to our partnerships, the rewarded films will be seen in Beirut, Lebanon in the hopes of to promoting cinema in the middle-east.

All winners will receive an official PIFF award certificate.

ALL SELECTED FILMS WILL BE SCREENED IN LYON FRANCE

Producers and film distributors will be present to meet with the filmmakers.

Terms and rules

Only FilmFreeway submissions are accepted!

• Eligible Movies:
Feature Film / Short Movie – less than 25 min / Animation – less than 40 min / Documentary – less than 60 min.

• By submitting the entry form and related material, the Producer / Director (owner of the rights) accepts to grant PHOENICIAN FILM FESTIVAL , by the person of its Founder and Director, the rights to print and screen publicly any material submitted to the festival and to use it for any promotional activity covering the festival.

Submission to the PHENICEIN FILM FESTIVAL :

• Films must be subtitled in English and or French

• Films completion dates should not be earlier than January 2015

• Submission of film material and entry form does not guarantee screening during the festival, or during any of the out of competition events parallel to the festival.

• The submitter grants PIFF the rights to present his/her film to the press and to screen it during the festival days if selected.

• Entry's material will not be returned.

• PHENICEIN FILM FESTIVAL screens only films available on Blu Ray and in MOV format.

• Projects will be contacted only if selected for the festival official selection or the out of competition events.

• If your film is selected for the PIFF 2017 official selection, you accept to send, if the organizer found it necessary, the final screening copy via an express courier on your expenses ASAP after the selection announcement. Otherwise, your film will be disqualified.

• The submitter grants PHENICEIN FILM FESTIVAL the rights to present their film in the “PIFF Video Library” for free private screening.

• By submitting your film to PHENICEIN FILM FESTIVAL 2017, you are granting the organizers the rights to screen your movie in the out of competition events parallel to the festival during 2017.

• By submitting the film to PHENICEIN FILM FESTIVAL, you declare that all rights on the film are acquired.
