Eligible films must be produced, directed, edited or written by a woman. Films by men are accepted but they must be about women's social, economical, geographical, political or health issues…current or historical. Our Time: Celebrating Women reserves the right to determine whether a film qualifies for this exception.
All non-English language films must have English subtitles or be dubbed in English.
First and second time directors encouraged. Florida premieres will be given preference.
All films must be submitted in their final, complete state via online screener or Blu-ray DVD.
Please do NOT send stills or press kits. If your film is selected we will ask you to email us any and all promotional materials at that time.
You may enter more than one film, but you must complete a separate entry form and pay an entry fee for each film.
Any submissions with an unpaid balance after a deadline will be required to pay the following deadline’s submission fee. Failure to pay the appropriate fee will result in disqualification without a refund.
All works selected must be available by March 15, 2020 for inclusion in the festival.
Filmmakers are submitting their own original work, and there are no disputes regarding the ownership or distribution or exhibition rights of the submission in part or in entirety.
Filmmakers agree and hold the Our Time: Celebrating Women Film Festival harmless from and defend them from all claims, demands, losses, damages, judgments, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising out of or in connection with any and all claims of third parties, whether groundless or not, based on any film submitted to the festival.
SELECTION
Film selection for the festival will be made by the Our Time: Celebrating Women Film Festival Programming Selection Committee. Films submitted to this festival will be judged on their technical quality and overall aesthetic. Additionally, each film must be engaging and entertaining, impacting audiences by educating, inspiring, or challenging their perspective.
The selected filmmakers will be responsible for all shipping fees.
All filmmakers will be notified via email of acceptance.
By agreeing to these terms, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the regulations of the Our Time: celebrating Women Film Festival and that, to the best of your knowledge, the information that you have supplied is correct.
SCREENERS
All projects must be submitted either via secure online screener - either as a password protected Vimeo link attached to your submission, or uploaded directly to FilmFreeway or Blu-ray DVD.
The submitter is responsible for ensuring that their screener link and password is active through at least the end of the festival. In the event of a password or URL change after submitting, email us immediately. If we discover an error with the screener, we will attempt to email the submitter for an update.
Failure to respond by the final submission deadline will result in disqualification without refund of submission fees. Online screeners must be available to stream, we do not accept any films that must be downloaded.
RULES FOR SUBMISSION
In addition to the rules and eligibility requirements listed above, the submitting filmmaker must be either the producer or director of the film and submit the following:
- A completed official entry via this site.
- Payment of the non-refundable entry fee must accompany the submission.
- Multiple submissions must be provided as individual submissions.
Other films may be invited to screen at the Festival as a “Special Presentation” or in a “To Be Announced” time slot; these will not be eligible for the Audience Choice Award. “Special Presentation” films are generally titles that already have major distribution or have had their broadcast premiere prior to the festival.
Filmmakers grant this film festival the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the festival for promotional purposes.
All accepted films will screen at least once during the festival, with the possibility of an encore screening for select films/shorts blocks when appropriate. All scheduling is purely at the discretion of the film festival staff.
