About the festival

The Obsessive Filmmakers Beach Festival is exactly what you'd think - A Film Festival, directly at the beautiful beach of Torrox Costa / Malaga, aiming to show the work of independent, obsessive filmmakers. We're looking for inventive and unique movies, that tell unconventional stories in unconventional ways, genre-bending, innovative and entertaining.
We love fantasy, horror, scifi, comedy and everything in between. We're open to all films, regardless of the genre, they only have to be extraordinarily individual.

Our festival started in Hamburg, but Hamburg has neither sun nor proper beaches. So we thought we'd fix that. This time, it's taking place at "Nico's Paradise", right at the beach.
The cutting edge program consists of shorts, feature films, live concerts, theater performances, a party and panels like our "pitching session", where filmmakers can pitch their new projects and find supporters.
Our festival has a devoted fanbase and we've gotten a lot of media attention over the last three years.

German film legend Dietrich Kuhlbrodt (who has been acting in films by Lars von Trier and Christoph Schlingensief, among many others) said, our festival had "The same atmosphere as the beginnings of the underground scene in the 70's" and he knows - He was there.

We let an international Jury of film professionals and critics decide on the following Awards:

- Best feature
- Best short
- Best actor
- Best actress
- Best camera
- Best soundtrack
