The NRV Youth Film Festival is based in Blacksburg, but is open to all of those who reside in the New River Valley. The festival has been put together by a combination of efforts by both staff and teachers at Blacksburg High School with support from the Lyric Theater. We wish to showcase an art-form that is not very active in the area and attract those who have a fondness for it. The art of cinema is a very complicated yet beautiful one. It combines multiple kinds of other art-forms within itself in order to express emotions few others can recreate. We are here to celebrate those who wish to participate in such an art and contribute to its existence in the New River Valley.
Due to the pandemic we have been forced to postpone the festival until May of 2021. We hope that at that time we will be able to have a festival safely. If not, then we will have to consider the possibility of canceling the festival.
