About the festival

Guts. Ghosts. Ghouls. The 2nd Annual Northwest Horrorfest celebrates macabre filmmakers from across the greater Pacific Northwest area. Entries can range from documentaries to narrative feature and beyond.

The Northwest Horrorfest is hosted around the Olympia, Washington downtown area, mainly inside the Capitol Theater, a 1924 concert and movie palace owned and operated by the Olympia Film Society. This organization supports a small staff and board of directors along with over 125 dedicated volunteers who select films, organize events, and run the Capitol Theater.

Best Entries will be screened during the 2nd Annual Northwest Horrorfest at the Capitol Theater on May 31, 2019

Terms and rules

Submissions must be from filmmakers located in the greater northwest (Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, Northern California, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming). If accepted, filmmaker(s) must be prepared to send a DCP of their feature or short to the Capitol Theater for screening purposes.
