The Normandie-World War II International Film Festival showcases the best in World War II military-themed documentaries from around the world.

Our winning documentary film will be shown in Normandy, France in June of 2021.

The Normandie-World War II International Film Festival is held each year in Normandy, France.

The Normandie-World War II International Film Festival serves an important role in furthering the mission to produce content that honors all those who fight for our freedoms each day and have done so through wars and conflicts over the centuries.

As was the case on D-Day, these efforts are undertaken by many people of many nations who believe these stories must be preserved for future generations.

Please join us during the annual remembrance of the D-Day anniversary each June as we preview the best in story-telling from around the world and officially recognize those individuals who continue to honor the men and women who have fought for our freedom in battles both large and small.

The annual military film festival also featured appearances by New York Times best-selling authors, actors, actual World War II veterans and others.

Terms and rules

GENERAL RULES
REGULATIONS AND PROCEDURES

All shipping and postage costs for the submission package and, if the film is selected for the Festival, for all DCPs and additional materials sent to and returned must be borne by the submitting party.

The Normandie Film Festival will not accept Cash On Delivery shipments. The World War II Foundation will not incur any customs taxes. All charges must be pre-paid. The World War II Foundation will not accept submissions if customs and delivery fees have not been paid by the submitting party.

Submission packages from outside the USA must be labeled 'Trade Sample' or 'Gift' on any customs label and, for customs purposes, must be given a value of no more than US$10.

Selection of Films
Submissions are reviewed and selected under the following criteria:
- Quality of narrative and production values
- Independent nature of the production

Notification
The World War II Foundation endeavors to complete all selection procedures by February 26th, 2021 and inform all winning parties, in writing, if their film has been successful or not after that time.

Winning films will receive a Filmmaker Festival Pack that will include important information on how to make the most of participating in the Festival.

Festival Screenings
Selected winning films MUST provide a BlueRay DVD in order to be screened at the Normandie-WWII International Film Festival, as well as a back-up Blu-ray. The film title MUST be clearly labeled on the Blu-ray.

Please clearly label whether your film is PAL or NTSC.

DVDs will NOT be returned.

A selected winning film must arrive no later than TWENTY days prior to its scheduled screening date in June of 2021.

The World War II Foundation aspires to provide the best quality projection possible but will not be held liable for any failure in the technical quality of the projection, nor will fees be refunded in any such case.

Scheduling
Screenings are scheduled during the Festival at the discretion of the World War II Foundation. Whilst every effort will be made to adhere to the published schedule, The WWII Foundation reserves the right to make changes at any time for any reason. The WWII Foundation will not be liable for any costs claimed as a result of a change in schedule.

No film may be withdrawn from the festival program after its selection.

Festival Awards
Outstanding World War II Documentary Film-(maximum 90 minutes.)

The overall outstanding (winning) film will be selected
*PRIOR* to the actual festival, with only winning films in each specific category shown in Saine Come-du-Mont, France on the evening of June 5, 2021.

Filmmakers will be notified if their film has won the top award in their category at least one month prior to the festival.

All filmmakers who have had their films selected for consideration for the festival and top awards will be notified in February and be provided with an "Official Selection of the 2021 Normandie-WWII International Film Festival" logo (Jpeg) that they can use to promote their film being selected and in contention for the overall top award at the Normandie-WWII International Film Festival.

The winning films in each category will be provided with an overall film festival winning (Outstanding Documentary Jpeg to use as they wish.

Again, only the winning film determined prior to the film festival will be shown in France. However, all filmmakers who have had their films accepted into the festival for consideration for the top award are invited to the VIP and Red Carpet event at the D-Day Experience Museum and Theatre in Sainte-Come-du-Mont, France.

Outstanding World War II Documentary Film will recognize the best in historic storytelling, visuals, and narrative. Documentary Films should tell a truthful story about a particular person or event from the time period 1933-1945 and be 90 minutes or less in length. We want GREAT stories that need to be preserved for future generations.
