Muestra de Cine Lésbico de Madrid /Madrid Lesbian Film Days

Organized by Women's Group of Fundación Triángulo Madrid, LGBT +, a non-profit organization that works for social rights, equality and visibility of Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals, Trans * and non-binary identities.

For the last years we have been working with a group of women, mostly activists and volunteers, in the organization of this Exhibition, with the intention of giving visibility to our realities as non-heterosexual women and how they intersect with many other realities like: age, ethnicity, race-hatred, social class, activism... We start from the need to tell lesbian and bisexual stories in a space of representation such as cinema, in which there are not enough images of non-heterosexual women or when they do exist, they appear stereotyped. We want to encourage and make accessible positive references that are necessary to create a more equitable and diverse social reality, especially to strengthen and empower the process of identification as a lesbian or bisexual woman. The Muestra de Cine Lésbico is a way to show the world stories that are worth telling.
