About the festival

COVID-19 ANNOUNCEMENT:
Due to the rise in cases and ongoing pandemic in the U.S we will not have any in person events.

Mountain Tales Film Festival is for storytellers from every walk of life who find themselves telling those stories through film. Although there will be multiple awards and laurels given out we hope this festival can be a place of comradery between filmmakers, not of competition.

We were once asked: When you get to the mountain why are you there, to see or to be seen?

After forming our company 321 Productions, which this film festival is a branch of, we had to truly look at ourselves as we climbed that mountain and ask: why are we here?

We know now, that we are here to see.
To see your stories, your perspectives.
To see what there is to be seen and to explore it.
To see your tales from that same mountain.
So now that you're here with us, are you here to be seen or are you here to see?

Our main festival is held in fall, but we are happy to have two other smaller installments of the Mountain Tales Film festival at Fanaticon in Dothan, Alabama and at the Pineywoods Arts Festival in Enterprise, Alabama.
Each has it own submission period and some films may be chosen to screen in multiple locations through ought the year.

In 2020 we have decided to take our festival into the digital world and have a completely virtual festival experience!
We will be selling tickets to the two nights of film screenings, table reads, and panels through a soon to be announced platform and hope to see you all there!

The Audience Choice Awards:
These awards will be chosen based on votes from our online audience members. A week before the screenings we will post the 3 finalists in each category and they will be able to be voted on once a day per person.

The Pangilinan Undergraduate Award:
This award will be chosen by a committee of 321 Films team members and awarded to the filmmaker who told the strongest stories based on character development, plot line, pacing, dialogue, camera direction, and other attributes.

Each official selection and finalist will receive official laurels from the festival.

**FOR THE INSTALLMENTS OF MOUNTAIN TALES FILM FESTIVAL THERE WILL BE NO AWARDS BUT THERE WILL BE THE CHANCE OF BEING SCREENED AT MULTIPLE TIMES OF YEAR AND LOCATIONS**
