About the festival

After the success of the inaugural Melbourne International Youth Film Festival, MIYFF is very proud to announce a collaboration with the Melbourne Queer Film Festival in 2020!

To commemorate the 30th birthday of MQFF we are looking for films 30 minutes or under. If you’re a young, ambitious and creative filmmaker, then we want your short film!
For our 2020 catalogue we are looking for films representing youth or by youth, as well as catering towards and celebrating queer content, and being appealing to a queer audience.

MIYFF will showcase films of all genres. Our aim is to celebrate and uplift the LGBTQI+ community. No matter the concept, if you have something to say, we are all ears!

Submissions are now open, and close on December 6th 2019 at 9:00am (AEST). So, what are you waiting for?

Now, getting down to the nitty grittys.
