After the amazing success of the 1st Margate Bookie Film Fest we're back! And this time it is going to be bigger and better than ever!
As before - we celebrate all types of storytelling through short films. Whether it is comedy, drama, animation, mood pieces or documentaries we want to see your films!
We know there are a lot of festivals out there, so we've thought long and hard about how we can add value to the filmmakers experience:
Here's a rundown of what the Margate Bookie Film Fest can offer you:
*EVERY FILM SUBMITTED WILL RECEIVE WRITTEN FEEDBACK FROM OUR PANEL*
Feedback will be constructive on what we loved and what could be improved.
*EVERY SELECTED FILM WILL BE SHOWCASED ONLINE FOR THE WHOLE FESTIVAL*
All selected films will be showcased online for 10 days and promoted through our social media channels to maximise exposure.
* EVERY SELECTED FILM WILL BE ANNOUNCED AND FEATURED IN OUR OPENING AND CLOSING CEREMONY ONLINE*
This will be broadcast on the first and last day of the fest.
* EVERY SELECTED FILMMAKER WILL HAVE A 'Q AND A' INTERVIEW WITH US WHICH WILL BE RELEASED DURING THE FESTIVAL*
We will discuss YOUR film giving the viewers a real insight into how your film was made.
* ALL SELECTED FILMS WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO WIN THE AUDIENCE AWARD - A PRIZE GIVEN TO THE FILM THAT HAS THE MOST REACH AND ENGAGEMENT*

We don't want to discourage anyone from submitting which is why we have tweaked our awards this season.
We have awards for 'BEST FILM, BEST LOW BUDGET FILM, BEST LOCAL FILM, BEST INTERNATIONAL FILM, BEST UK FILM, COVID AWARD 2020 AND THE AUDIENCE AWARD FILM.

All selected filmmakers will have a 'Q and A' style interview broadcast online where we discuss your film.
All selected films will feature in our opening and closing ceremony.
All winners and selected films will receive a Margate Bookie customised Laurel.
All winners and selected films will be showcased through all of our social media channels for the duration of the festival.
