About the festival

The 15th annual Los Angeles International Children’s Film Festival, previously scheduled for April-May 2020, was postponed due to the COVID-19 public-health crisis. We will now hold the festival online using Vimeo Showcase Dec. 26 2020 - Jan. 3 2021, with short films and animation organized in blocks based on recommended viewing age (5 and younger, 10 and younger, etc.). We will release web links when we get closer to the online event. The plan is to pre-record Zoom Q/As with the filmmakers and make them available during the festival on a dedicated YouTube page.

We will then have an in-person festival with the same films sometime in 2021, when it's safe and local guidelines allow.

Both the online version and the in-person festival will be free access/admission for everyone. So let's go global with this!

Presenting around 100 short films from around the world—animation, live action, and documentary films—organized for different age groups.

The festival has a history of showcasing talent and moving careers forward, with more than 70 of our animators and filmmakers going on to work for major studios, and more than 30 becoming part of Oscar-winning teams. We are very proud of our alumni!
