Lookout Wild Film Festival

This category is for films that raise awareness and/or offer solutions to a problem in nature or the environment. Includes conservation issues.

This category includes films about adventure sports including but not limited to paddling, surfing, gliding, climbing, mountain biking, snow sports, running, cycling, caving, skydiving, diving, mountaineering and whatever else people can come up with.

This category is for films that take us new places and show us new things. Those places can be under the ocean, in the deepest jungle or under an urban highway overpass.

Short films matching the festival genre. Films should be less than 25 minutes.

Feature-Length Film Feature-length films matching the festival genre. Films should be longer than 25 minutes.

Film productions matching the festival genre that take place in the Southeast, including TN, GA, AL, FL, VA, KY, MS, AR, LO, SC, NC, WV

Documentary films matching the festival genres. Any length.

We are adding a new category this year for timelapse/hyperlapse films. We will have two to three one-hour blocks in the festival where will we show timelapse films and host meditation/yoga sessions. You must have the rights or written consent for any music used. Nature/outdoor lapses preferred, but we will be accepting some films from cities or of other manmade objects. Accepted films will receive festival laurels and winner will receive a trophy.

Black and white photography. Must be outdoor, adventure or conservation related. In this category, the top three photographs selected by our judges will be printed and the remainder of the submissions may be shown digitally at the venue with credits. By submitting, you agree for LWFF to be allowed to present your photo at the festival and use it for promotional purposes for the festival. LWFF will not sell your work without specific written consent. Submissions must be black and white, but can also be entered in other categories.
