Loch Ness Film Festival is a small grassroots film festival run as a scottish charity by volunteers that screen entertaining shorts films that are under 15 minutes over a weekend at the end of July each year and we also host a FREE ENTRY fun guerrilla style filmmaking afternoon aimed at children age 5-12 titled Zombies vs Superheroes.
We aim to screen the best shorts we receive either from our own backyard of the Highlands in Scotland to the other side of the world from budget to no budget.
We do not host any awards ceremonies during the festival but for the first time in 2015 we awarded titles of Best Short Film, Microshort for shorts 5 minutes and under and comedy and the awards were selected by Scottish Movie news and review site MovieScramble, you can find more news and reviews at www.moviescramble.co.uk.
The selected films will be shortlisted on our website and social media in mid to late June with the winners announced live after our Saturday night block of shorts and announced later on our social media sites with prized being large and small badges given to the winners to wear or place of their choosing.
