About the festival

LezPlay Film Fest is for short films BY WOMEN with lesbian characters or themes. Preference will be given to films in which BOTH the writer or director are women, but either the writer or director MUST be a woman. And that must be clear from the credits on the screen.

LezPlay Film Fest for 2016 will include shorts under 15 minutes that have not been screened previously in Chicago.

LezPlay Film Fest is a part of PFP's LezPlay programming, which in 2016 includes fully staged plays, our Summer and WInter LezFest performance evenings, a LezFest Incubator to develop new works, and our LezPlay Weekend at Center on Halsted in September. For more on PFP and the LezPlay events visit www.pridefilmsandplays.com.

The LezPlay Film Fest will screen on Monday, February 22, at Chicago's Public House Theater.

LezPlay Film Fest is a partner to the Queer Bits Film Festival which recently plays summer and fall in the same venue.

The mission of Pride Films and Plays is to present and develop human stories with gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender characters or themes that speak for the community and are essential viewing for all audiences.
Awards & Prizes

All short films entered are subject to an entry fee. Entry bird entry fee from November 1 to 30 is $10, Regular entry fee December 1 through January 7 is $20.

Entries are eligible to receive their official Chicago-premiere on Monday, February 22, at The Public House Theatre (3914 N Clark, Chicago, IL) at 7:00PM.
