About the festival

LesFlicks is collaborating with Queer Cinema in September 2019 to put on a series of short films at an event: "Queer Cinema Presents: Lesbian (in)Visibility"

We are seeking up to 5 short films of up to 20 minutes in length with a lesbian or bisexual lead, storyline or supporting character. We are highlighting lesbian and bisexual visibility and invisibility and invite films that filmmakers believe explore this subject.

The films will be shown at an event in collaboration with Queer Cinema at Stratford Library in September.

Film submissions are accepted by cis and trans lesbian, bisexual and heterosexual female filmmakers whose film shows women loving women on screen, either a lesbian or bisexual storyline; or that portrays a lesbian or bisexual character as a strong supporting character.

Mission

- Selected films are provided with laurels
- All eligible films that are shortlisted or selected will be eligible to receive royalties for views should the film be placed on the LesFlicks video on demand streaming platform*.
There is a £50 cash prize for the favourite film on the night which will be chosen by the viewing public at the event.
- All eligible films that are shortlisted or selected will be eligible for inclusion in the LesFlicks film bank distribution (https://www.lesflicks.com/lesflicks-film-bank/)
*LesFlicks is a social enterprise and is committed to investing in filmmakers. As such 50% of gross subscription income goes directly to filmmakers in the form of royalties and grants, distributed based on views. Find out more at https://www.lesflicks.com/watch
