The Kingston Film Festival celebrates the art and entertainment of film in all its forms.

Through screenings and associated events, the festival aims to present a wide spectrum of filmmaking – feature films, documentaries, animation, short films, experimental, big budget, micro-budget, trailers and so on.

Nestled in upstate New York, at the gateway of the Catskills, the Kingston Film Festival brings audiences and filmmakers together to better enjoy the art of film making and offers an opportunity to gain industry knowledge through interaction within a festival environment.

The festival will offer film professionals and the interested public quality films expanding their knowledge of cinema and enhancing their appreciation of the filmmaking process.

Terms and rules

GENERAL RULES
-- Competition is open to U.S. and International entries.

-- Entries must be submitted for pre-screening on DVD or BluRay. (Region 1 or 0 Standard). We ask that you use recyclable packaging.

-- If you are burning a consumer disc, write your Project Title, Film ID# and Contact # on the disc with a Sharpie pen. PLEASE test your consumer-burned DVD on several makes and models of players BEFORE sending it to our offices.

-- Works in progress are accepted but are not encouraged. We can not promise that we will be able to watch re-edited submissions. Please only submit works in progress if submitting close to final deadline.

-- You may submit multiple entries but must fill out a separate entry form for each.

ALL OF THE FOLLOWING MUST ACCOMPANY YOUR ENTRY:

-- Entry fee (Paid via FilmFreeway)

-- 3-Line Synopsis (may be used for Festival Program and website)

-- FEATURE-LENGTH FILMS: 250 Word Synopsis (may be used for Festival Program and website)

-- COLLEGE STUDENTS: Include proof of student status at the time of production. (Copy of student ID or transcript.)

-- Selected entries must submit at least one digital hi-res still photo from the film.

-- Selected films who submitted a rough cut MUST submit a copy of the final edit of their film on DVD upon acceptance.
