About the festival

Kids Rule Film Festival wants kids to have the opportunity to experience incredible short films from all around the world. We also want to encourage young film makers and filmmakers in Central and Far West NSW, Australia, to tell their stories.

Kids Rule Film Festival screens films created for kids aged 6-12. All genres are welcome - including music videos. We invite entries from around the world and encourage entries from filmmakers from Central West and Far West NSW and young filmmakers worldwide. We are hoping for a diverse and interesting collection with different viewpoints and perspectives.

All selected films will be screened to an appreciative live audience. Non-English films are welcome but must have English subtitles.

Selected films will receive official selection laurels and the film voted the audience favourite will receive a certificate (which will be posted to you after the event).

Select films will be screened to a live audience. As audience sizes are limited due to the ongoing Public Health Orders, several screening times will be available.

There are no prizes - the film voted the audience favourite will receive a certificate (which will be emailed to you after the event).

All official selections will receive laurels.
