Rules & Terms
Entries must be submitted via FilmFreeway's online screener option, unless other arrangements have been made. Foreign language work must be dubbed or subtitled in English. Please do not send press kits or any other print materials until they are requested by the festival staff. We have no film premiere requirements or date of completion requirements, though we reserve the right for competition status to be reserved for films that have not yet received distribution or have been completed within the previous year. Filmmaker will assume shipping costs to the festival if not online. C.O.D.'S will be refused. DVD'S AND BLU-RAYS WILL NOT BE RETURNED. The festival cannot accept responsibility for damage or loss of materials while in transit. All international or foreign films should be clearly marked "No Commercial Value - For Cultural Purposes Only" either on the envelope or the shipping invoice or both.
If physical DVD/Blu-Ray submissions have been approved, they must be clearly labeled with film title, category and running time.
Our accepted exhibition formats are listed below from most preferred to least preferred.
1. ProRes422HQ Quicktime, 1920x1080 @ 23.976 fps*, 24bit or 16bit 48khz Stereo Audio.
2. AvidDNx115 Quicktime, 1920x1080p @ 23.976 fps*, 24bit or 16bit 48khz Stereo Audio. (this format can be made on a PC)
3. Bluray in either NTSC or PAL, Stereo or Multichannel Audio
4. H.264 QuickTime, 1920x1080p @ 23.976fps*, with a bit rate of at least 15000 kbits/sec, 24bit or 16bit 48khz Stereo Audio. (this format can be made on a PC)
5. DVD in NTSC, Stereo or Multichannel Audio
*We are committed to preserving the visual quality of all the films screened during the festival. In order to accomplish this we will not be able to do any type of format conversion on media files that are submitted for exhibition.
Screenplays should be in standard screenplay format and should be no longer than 130 pages. Short screenplays (under 50 pages) are NOT accepted. Screenplays must be registered with the WGA. The script must be in English and digital submission is preferred. If a hard copy of the script is mailed, script materials will not be returned.

Please read all rules and regulations before submitting your project. Submission signifies you have read and comply with all rules and regulations.
More than one entry may be submitted. Each must be submitted with its own entry form and fee.
Please note: Do not use registered or certified mail. Use First class, Priority, Airmail or Media Mail. Fedex, UPS and DHL also accepted.
SELECTION & NOTIFICATION
All entries will be viewed by the selection committee. The Festival will make no cuts or changes. Festival selections will be announced on or around mid-August. All entrants will be notified by email. By submitting to the festival, you agree to allow your film (or other artistic work) to be screened by the festival during the festival run, for which you are submitting, at no charge to the festival. You also agree to allow us to use parts of your film for promotional use of the festival. If there are to be any additional screenings, we will come to a mutual agreement between the filmmaker and the festival.
By submitting to the festival you are admitting copyright ownership of everything submitted. The festival reserves the right to disqualify any submission at any time, if there is any question of ownership, copyright infringement or any sign of disrespect (in any form of media) to the festival or its representatives.
Dates and venues are subject to change.
You agree to indemnify us and hold us and our employees, owners, affiliates, and partners harmless from all claims and liability associated with your participation or entry to the Jefferson State Flixx Festival.
The selection committees' and juries' decisions are final.
