About the festival

MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The Talassemtane Association for the Environment and Development (ATED) since it created in 1996 work in the field of the environment through several projects of which ATED is proud to realize with the population and the local authorities, projects that first place to value the human and material potential and create reliable and sustainable resources through income-generating activities, And in this context and for the citizens attentive to the fate of the planet, the cinema through the films is sometimes a vector of taking of ecological awareness and sustainable development. It is this main role that is entrusted to him at the International Festival of Environmental Films, so that he informs, educates and educates the public about the world as it is, and risks being. Faced with challenges and uncertainties, men react and act.
The environmental film has never been so alive! While we are overwhelmed with images and information, we have never needed real benchmarks as much. We need a cinema that discovers personalities in depth and tries to unravel the complex phenomena of our time.
More and more environmental films present initiatives, attempts, solidarities that want to change things, build a sustainable future and respectful of people and nature. They bring images from all over the world, from the Arctic to the heart of Africa, from today's challenges to the solutions of tomorrow

THE OBJECTIVES OF THE FESTIVAL:
Our overall goal is to create a space to exhibit, exchange and reflect on communicable ideas through documentary or fictional films that will raise awareness of the importance of caring for the environment. During 5 days during the month of JUNE, the public will appreciate and be moved by the best environmental films from all over the world.
* Enrich the Moroccan audiovisual field with a complementary space specific to environmental films.
* Develop techniques (especially digital) through the training and organization of workshops for those interested in the city of Chefchaouen, its region, and Morocco.
* Contribute to the integration of the culture of the environment in the social, cultural and artistic events organized in the region of Chefchaouen.
* Bring together cinema, audiovisual and the environment.
* to offer the amateurs of the filmic creation an international meeting for the presentation of their production and the exchange of experiences through:
-presentation of professionally produced documentary films;
-the consecration of the best films and the encouragement of filmic creation;
-the training in workshops supervised by specialists (editing-scenario-shooting ...);
-the debate and the exchange of ideas around the aspect of the environment.
* Contribute to the promotion of the documentary film on the national and international environment
* Contribute to the diffusion of the documentary culture on the environment
* Inform and educate the general public about eco-citizenship and sustainable development around screenings, meetings, events and debates.

The International Festival of Environmental Films of Chefchaouen, is a film event dedicated to film lovers and concerned about the environment in Morocco and abroad, it is an annual meeting in the beautiful blue pearl of northern Morocco, the tourist and ecological city Chefchaouen.

The 10th Edition of the International Festival of Environmental Films of Chefchaouen, will be held from 25 to 29 May 2021 on the occasion of World Environment Day.

A varied program and a jury made up of internationally and nationally renowned film professionals who will design the prize winners:

Professional films:
The 4 awards:
- Grand Prix: Best Documentary Award
- Prize for the best short film on the environment.
- Best animated film award
- Special WWF Morocco Award:
A special prize will be awarded for the best feature film dealing with the theme of "water" or "wetlands"

Short films on the environment (amateurs): Three prizes will be awarded to the best films:
- Prize for the best short film on the environment.
- Best animated film award
- Special WWF Morocco Award:
A special prize will be awarded for the best short film dealing with the theme of "water" or "wetlands"

The 11th 2021 edition of (FIFE) Chefchaouen, is a cultural event that offers the opportunity for National and International Directors to present their Audiovisual productions to the public.

This meeting aims to promote sharing, exchanges between directors, film professionals, and especially spectators and interested in the field of the environment.

The 11th 2021 Edition of the Festival of Environmental Films of Chefchaouen is open to all national and international environmental films.

The festival accepts films that have a close connection with the environment:

*Professional films:

- The theme and genre: films of all kinds (documentary, animation) may be candidates for selection;

- Duration: the films are classified into two categories: short film (up to 20 minutes), and feature film (From 45 minutes)

- The director can present as many films as desired, but in the case of selection, the committee can only select one film.

* Amateur movies:

- The theme and the genre (documentary, animation, fiction)

- The maximum duration is 20 minutes (including the credits).

Formats: mp4, mov, mpeg, wmv
Supports: digital version (link sent by internet), DVD, BLURAY, USB key, Hard Drive..)

NB: films sent over the internet, if selected and of good quality, can be validly screened for the competition.

Terms and rules

Article 1: Définition
Le Festival International des films d’environnement de Chefchaouen s’agit d’une compétition ouverte aux films portant sur de l’environnement réalisés par des réalisateurs professionnels et amateurs marocains et étrangers, quel que soit leur âge (>16 ans), et leurs expériences.
La 11ème édition 2021 du (FIFE) DE Chefchaouen se tiendra du 25 au 29 May 2021.
La 11ème édition 2021 du (FIFE) DE Chefchaouen comportera aussi une compétition pour les films amateurs portant sur le thème de « l’environnement ».
Article 2 : Objectifs
La 11ème édition 2020 du (FIFE) de Chefchaouen, est un événement culturel qui offre la possibilité aux Réalisateurs Nationaux et internationaux de présenter au public leurs productions Audiovisuelles.
Cette Rencontre internationale veut favoriser le partage, les échanges entre les réalisateurs, les professionnels du cinéma, et surtout les spectateurs et Intéressés par le domaine de l'environnement.
Article 3 :
Le Festival International des films d’environnement de Chefchaouen accepte les films qui ont un lien étroit avec l’environnement :
-les films professionnels :
- Le thème et le genre : les films de tous genres (documentaire, animation) peuvent être candidats à la sélection ;
- La durée : les films sont classés en deux catégories : court-métrage (Jusqu’à 20 minutes) et longs-métrages (A partir de 45 minutes)
- Le réalisateur peut présenter autant de films désirés mais au cas de la sélection, le comité de prselection ne pourra retenir qu’un seul film.
- les films Amateurs :
- Le thème et le genre (documentaires, fiction, animation)
- La durée maximale est 20 minutes (y compris le générique).
- Le réalisateur peut présenter autant de films désirés mais au cas de la sélection, le comité ne pourra retenir qu’un seul film.
Formats : mp4, mov, mpeg, wmv…
Supports : version numérique (lien envoyé par internet), DVD, BLURAY, clé USB, Disque dur (Hard Drive).
NB : Les films envoyés par lien (Vimeo, Dropbox…) sur internet, s’ils sont sélectionnés et sont de bonne qualité, peuvent valablement être projetés pour la compétition.
Article 4: Inscriptions
*Pour que l’inscription soit effective, les 3 copie de DVD doivent être accompagnées du :
- Formulaire d’inscription signé, téléchargeable sur le site du Festival (http://www.festival.assated.com).
- Règlement du Festival dument signé, téléchargeable sur le site du Festival (http://www.festival.assated.com).
- les données du film :
Photo du réalisateur + l’affiche du film ou photos du Film + CV + année de production + synopsis du film (en arabe, en français ou anglais) Seront envoyés à l’e-mail du festival : festivalchefchaouen@gmail.com
* Les copies du film en DVD doivent être de haute qualité, avec traduction ou sous titrage anglais ou français. Ou envoyer lien de téléchargement du film en haute qualité (Vimeo, Dropbox, Youtube…), Cette procédure permet aux organisateurs de gagner du temps.
*L’inscription des films doit s’effectuer avant le 10 avril 2021. (Le cachet de la poste faisant foi), Rédiger les mots «à des fins culturelles et non commerciales" sur le paquet d’envoi.
Les coûts de transport du film et la présentation de tous les documents au bureau du festival est la responsabilité du participant.
*Les correspondances et colis doivent être directement adressés par poste ou services de messagerie directement à l’adresse suivante :

Article 5 : Présélection
Tous les Films proposés et envoyés dans les délais fixés à l’article 4 feront l’objet d’une première sélection ;
L’association ATED Désignera Un comité de présélection qui sélectionnera les films qui participeront à la sélection officielle pour les Films professionnels, amateurs et films des clubs scolaires.
Le Festival communiquera les résultats de la sélection à travers la page Site officiel du Festival: www.festival.assated.com, et directement par courrier électronique aux personnes sélectionnées.
Article 6 : Jury
Un Jury sera désigné par L’association et comportera des spécialistes du cinéma documentaire pour les trois compétitions
Article 7 : Prix
Les 3 prix:
*Films professionnels:
- Grand Prix : meilleur documentaire (10000 DH)
- Prix du meilleur court-métrage sur l’environnement ; (8000 DH)
- Prix du meilleur film d’animation ; (6000 DH)
- Prix WWF : Un prix spécial sera attribué au meilleur long métrage traitant sur le thème de « l’eau » ou « les zones humides »

*Films amateurs:
- Prix du meilleur court-métrage sur l’environnement. (5000 DH)
- Prix du meilleur film d’animation. (3000 DH)
- Prix WWF : Un prix spécial sera attribué au meilleur court métrage traitant sur le thème de « l’eau » ou « les zones humides »

*Concours des clubs d’environnement des établissements scolaires:
Un prix sera remis au meilleur film et portera le nom « Prix Akchour pour le meilleur film scolaire » (3000 DH)
Tous les prix seront remis lors de la cérémonie de clôture (29 mai 2021).
Article 8: Droits d’auteur
Le producteur ou le réalisateur s’engage à être en possession des droits musicaux, filmiques ou textes des œuvres inclus dans le film. Si c’est le contraire, la responsabilité de l’association ne saurait être engagée.
Article 9 : Présence des réalisateurs
-La présence des réalisateurs des films sélectionnés est obligatoire durant toute la période du festival (pour bénéficier du prix en argent) si le film est gagnant. Dans le cas de ne pas être en mesure d'assister, le réalisateur désignera son représentant durant le festival.
- Si le film est gagnant et aucun représentant(e) du film n’est présent(e) au festival, le réalisateur recevra simplement le certificat du prix (scanné et envoyé par email) et le trophée dans la mesure où l’ambassade du pays (gagnant) se charge de le transmettre par ses moyens.
- Le festival ne paie pas de taxes ou des frais pour les participants.
-L’association organisatrice du festival (ATED) prend en charge l’hébergement et la restauration des réalisateurs en compétition durant les 5 jours du festival.
Article 10 : Accréditation
- Pour ceux qui souhaitent participer à cette édition: les directeurs des festivals, les médias, les critiques,… demandez une accréditation en remplissant le formulaire correspondant sur le site du festival
Article 11 : Adhésion
-La participation au festival implique l’adhésion à ce statut.
-La participation au festival et l’adhésion à son statut implique l’autorisation de projeter des extraits du film proposé sur des chaînes de télévision et sur le réseau internet.
-Les copies des films proposées seront la propriété de l’association Talassemtane pour L’environnement et le Développement et seront exploitées seulement dans des activités culturelles à but non lucratif.
