About the festival

The International Changing Perspectives Film Festival is an international take-away film festival dealing with the topic of cultural exchange. The festival will start in Istanbul with a week program. During the year there will be other screenings in various European cities. Filmmakers will be invited and academic panel discussions on the topic of academic cultural exchange will be held.

Initiated by Katadrom Arts and Culture and Social Politics Association based in Istanbul- ‘The 9th International Changing Perspectives Short Film Festival’ will be held between the dates of 9th – 13th of March 2021 in Istanbul, to then continue its yearly tour across other cities around the world.

2021 theme is "Isolation"
Isolation by choice or yet, by force, “Surrendered to self preservation”, guided by voices and images; it’s the age of retelling those old stories of lifelines.

The Festival will screen more than 100 short features, short documentaries, short animations etc. of young filmmakers, students and teams who express different perspectives, concepts, and imaginations about "isolation" and festival's traditional thematic sections.

The programme of ICPFF consists of following sections:
“Isolation”; the main theme,
“Cultural Insights”; where the cultural perspectives and contrast of life will be focused, “Ridicule”; where the films that entreats the absurd and humorous sides of life will be screened,
“Purple Portraits”; where the stories and experiences of powerful women will be told, “Umbrella”; standing against all kinds of discrimination and exclusion,
“Swerve Away”; stories of lives that are changed with a sharp turn,
“So Far, So Close”; stories of late history, personal history and nostalgia,
“Hybrid Sensations”; where all the sensations turn upside-down.

The festival already left a mark for its innovative and groundbreaking character – a ‘take-away’ festival consisting of films screenings, panel discussions, photography exhibitions, and workshops.
