International Animation Festival AJAYU - Peru

For the Official Selection, the following must be taken into account:
I. PARTICIPANTS
 People over 18 years of age may participate individually or collectively.
 In the case of the category short films made by children, it is considered under 18 years.
 The productions can be of any nationality. Productions in languages other than Spanish must be subtitled and these subtitles must be attached in .SRT or .pdf format in Spanish or English.
 Up to three works per director will be accepted.
 Registration for Peruvian and Latin American short films and feature films from any country are free during the entire call.

 Registered animated productions that have been part of the Official selection in competition or Exhibition of previous editions of the AJAYU Festival will be automatically disqualified.
 Animated projects that have been completed as of January 1, 2017 participate.
II. RECEPTION DEADLINES
The deadline for receipt will be from August 19 to October 3, 2020 until 11:59 pm. Projects submitted after the date will not be considered unless the organization has decided to extend the call.
The following deadlines will be taken into account:
• Early Registration until August 24, 2019
• Regular registration from August 24 to September 13, 2020
• Late Registration September 13 until October 03, 2020.
III. CATEGORIES IN COMPETITION
The Festival has the following categories:
• International Animation Short Films.
• Peruvian Animation Short Films.
• Latin American animation short films.
• Animated short films for Thesis or Graduation.
• Animated short films made by children (Ajayito).
• Animated feature films.
• Cartoons.
Considerations:
• Productions may only participate in a single competition.
• Short films must not exceed 20 (twenty) minutes. The work will be out of competition if it exceeds this limit.
• In the case of feature films, they must be longer than 60 (sixty) minutes.
• In the case of series, only one chapter that must not exceed 30 (thirty) minutes may be selected.

• In the case of the International Animation Short Films category, only works that do not belong to Latin America and Peru are accepted.
• The decision to project out-of-competition works will depend on the organization.
• The best productions will be able to compete in the Ajayu Grand Prize, being the most important prize of the festival.
• The productions that were selected on display may compete for the audience award.
IV. REGISTRATION
• The works can only be sent online to: http://www.ajayufest.com/p/inscriptions.html
• The animated production must contain:
 A photograph of the director / s. (not required).
 Two photographs of the short with a minimum quality of 300 dpi.
 An image of the poster of the short film (not mandatory).
 Trailer or teaser (not mandatory).
• The director or producer of the animated production authorizes that it be included in the AJAYU video library and in future traveling exhibitions of the festival.
• Applicants authorize virtual screenings to be made, for the exhibition, reproduction, communication to the public and exhibition of their work in exclusive free exhibitions of the festival aimed at training audiences, which will be held in virtual rooms on the page. www.ajayufest.com, with prior registration and password at a time established during the days of the Festival.
V. CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION
• The animated productions received may be used to promote the Festival (using part of the video, not its entirety, the teaser or trailer can be used).

• The directors must be the authors of the short films and undertake not to present audiovisual materials or phonographies over which they do not have rights of use.
• The Festival organization is not responsible for the works or for the inappropriate use of intellectual property rights by the authors.
VI. PRESELECTION
The material received will be preselected by the Programmer and her assistants designated by the organizing committee of the Festival. The official selection is divided as follows:
• Official Selection in Competition:
Official Selection of International Short Film, Official Selection of National Short Film (Peruvians), Official Selection of Latin American Short Film, Official Selection of Short Film for Thesis or Graduation, Official Selection of Short Films Made by Children (Ajayito), Official Selection of Short Film Grand Ajayu Award from the Jury . Official Selection of Feature Film, Official Selection of animated series.
• Official Selection in Exhibition:
Official Selection of international short film, Official Selection of short film for thesis or graduation.
VII. QUALIFICATION
The categories International Animated Short Films, Peruvian Animated Short Films, Latin American Animated Short Films, Animated Thesis or Graduation Short Films, Animated Short Films Made by Children (Ajayito), Animated Feature Films, Animated Series, will be judged by prominent film and animation specialists juries.
The category of Best Animation Audience Award will apply to short films, feature films and series, it will be chosen by votes through a form in the different rooms of the virtual projections during the dates of the festival.

The Special Mention for Best Animation Made by Children will be established by the members of the Ajayu Cinematographic Association, and it will be the representative of the Ajayito section in future traveling shows.
After the qualification and a week before the publication of the results, an email will be sent to those selected so that they can send a signed authorization or confirmation email for the virtual projection of their works on the days of the festival, which will be a requirement to be part of the Official Selection.
VIII. AWARDS

• Best animated series (Trophy and certificate)
 Audience Award
• Best Animated Short Film Audience Award (certificate)

IX. JURY
The Jury will be established by the organization, among prominent film and animation personalities, who will decide the prizes for the competitive categories.
The Jury's decision will be final and the prizes may be declared void if they do not meet the quality established by the jury.
X. PUBLICATION OF FINAL RESULTS
The Official Selection in Competition and in Exhibition will be published on October 19, 2020 on the website www.ajayufest.com and the corresponding laurels will be sent by email.
XI. AWARD
The awards will be held during the closing day of the Festival, on November 14, 2020. The winners agree to include the award obtained accompanied by the Festival laurel in their opening credits.
XII. ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES
Participation in this Festival implies acceptance of these rules. The absence of any important data in the registration, as well as the material attached to it and the breach of the established deadlines, may lead to the non-participation in the Festival of the corresponding work.

Para la Selección oficial se deberá tener en cuenta lo siguiente:
I. PARTICIPANTES
 Podrán participar personas de forma individual o colectiva, mayores de 18 años.
 Para el caso de la categoría cortometrajes realizado por niños se considera menores de 18 años.
 Las realizaciones pueden ser de cualquier nacionalidad. Las producciones en idiomas que no sean en español, deberán ser subtitulados y estos subtítulos deberán ser adjuntados en formato .SRT o .pdf en español y/o inglés.
 Se aceptarán hasta tres obras por realizador.
 La inscripción para cortometrajes peruanos, latinoamericanos y largometrajes de cualquier país son gratuitas durante toda la convocatoria.
 Las producciones animadas inscritas que hayan sido parte de la selección Oficial en competencia o Exhibición de ediciones anteriores del Festival AJAYU serán automáticamente descalificadas.
 Participan proyectos animados que hayan sido finalizados a partir del 01 de enero del año 2017.
II. PLAZOS DE RECEPCIÓN
El plazo de recepción será del 19 de agosto hasta el 03 de octubre del 2020 hasta las 11:59 pm. Los proyectos remitidos después de la fecha no serán considerados a menos que la organización haya decidido extender la convocatoria.
Se tomará en cuenta los siguientes plazos:
 Inscripción Temprana hasta el 24 de agosto del 2019
 Inscripción Regular del 24 de agosto hasta el 13 de setiembre del 2020
 Inscripción Tardía 13 de setiembre hasta el 03 de octubre 2020.
III. CATEGORÍAS EN COMPETENCIA
El Festival tiene las siguientes categorías:
 Cortometrajes de Animación Internacional.
 Cortometrajes de Animación peruana.
 Cortometrajes de animación latinoamericana.
 Cortometrajes animados de Tesis o de Graduación.
 Cortometrajes animados realizados por niños (Ajayito).
 Largometrajes animados.
 Series animadas.
Consideraciones:
 Las producciones solo podrán participar en una sola competencia.
 Los cortometrajes no deben superar los 20 (veinte) minutos. La obra quedará fuera de competencia si supera este límite.
 En el caso de largometrajes deben ser superiores a 60 (sesenta) minutos.
 En el caso de series solo podrá ser seleccionado un capítulo que no debe superar los 30 (treinta) minutos.
 Para el caso de la categoría Cortometrajes de animación Internacional, solo se aceptan obras que no pertenezcan a Latinoamérica y Perú.
 La decisión de proyectar trabajos fuera de competencia dependerá de la organización.
 Las mejores producciones podrán competir en el Gran premio Ajayu, siendo el premio más importante del festival.
 Las producciones que fueron seleccionadas en exhibición pueden competir por el premio del público
IV. INSCRIPCIONES
 Los trabajos solo podrán enviarse de manera online a: http://www.ajayufest.com/p/inscripciones.html
 La producción animada deberá contener:
 Una fotografía del director/es. (no obligatorio).
 Dos fotografías del corto con una calidad mínima de 300 dpi.
 Una imagen del afiche del cortometraje (no obligatorio).
 Tráiler o teaser (no obligatorio).
 El director y/o productor de la producción animada autoriza que la misma sea incluida en la videoteca de AJAYU y en futuras muestras itinerantes del festival.
 Los postulantes autorizan que se pueda hacer las proyecciones virtuales, para la exhibición, reproducción, comunicación al público y exhibición de su trabajo en exhibiciones gratuitas exclusivas del festival orientado a la formación de audiencias, que se realizará en salas virtuales de la página www.ajayufest.com , con previa inscripción y contraseña en un horario establecido durantes los días del Festival.
V. CONDICIONES DE LA COMPETENCIA
 Las producciones animadas recibidas podrán ser usadas para la promoción del Festival (utilizando parte del video, no su totalidad, se puede utilizar el teaser o el trailer).
 Los directores deben ser autores de los cortometrajes y se comprometen a no presentar materiales audiovisuales y/o fonografías sobre los que no tengan derechos de uso.
 La organización del Festival no se responsabiliza de las obras ni del uso inadecuado de los derechos de propiedad intelectual por parte de los autores.
VI. PRE SELECCIÓN
El material recibido será preseleccionado por el Programador y sus asistentes designados por el comité organizador del Festival. La selección oficial se divide de la siguiente forma:
 Selección Oficial en Competencia:
Selección Oficial de cortometraje internacional, Selección Oficial de cortometraje nacional (peruanos), Selección Oficial de cortometraje Latinoamericano, Selección Oficial de cortometraje de tesis o graduación, Selección Oficial de Cortometrajes hecho por niños (Ajayito), Selección Oficial de cortometraje Gran Premio Ajayu del Jurado. Selección Oficial de Largometraje, Selección Oficial de serie animada.
 Selección Oficial en Exhibición:
Selección Oficial de cortometraje internacional, Selección Oficial de cortometraje de tesis o graduación.
VII. CALIFICACIÓN
Las categorías Cortometrajes de animación Internacional, Cortometrajes de animación peruana, Cortometrajes de animación latinoamericana, Cortometrajes animados de Tesis o de Graduación, Cortometrajes animados realizados por niños (Ajayito), Largometrajes animados, Series Animadas, serán calificadas por jurados especialistas destacados del cine y animación.
La categoría de Mejor animación Premio del Público aplicará para los cortometrajes, largometrajes y series, será elegida por votos mediante un formulario en las distintas salas de las proyecciones virtuales durante las fechas del festival.
La Mención especial a Mejor animación realizada por niños lo establecerán los integrantes de la Asociación Cinematográfica Ajayu, y será representante de la sección Ajayito en las muestras itinerantes futuras.
Después de la calificación y una semana antes de la publicación de resultados se les enviará un correo a los seleccionados para que puedan mandar una autorización firmada o correo de confirmación para la proyección virtual de sus obras en los días del festival, el cual será un requisito para ser parte de la Selección Oficial.
VIII. PREMIOS
Los premios estarán divididos de la siguiente manera:

 Mejor cortometraje animado de Tesis o de Graduación (certificado)
 Mejor Largometraje animado (Trofeo y certificado)
 Mejor serie animada (Trofeo y certificado)
Premio del Público
 Mejor cortometraje animado Premio del público (certificado)
 Mejor Largometraje animado Premio del público (certificado)
 Mejor Serie animada Premio del público (certificado)
Menciones Especiales
 Mención Especial Mejor Cortometraje Animación 2D (Certificado)

IX. JURADO
El Jurado será establecido por la organización, entre personalidades destacadas del cine y animación, quienes decidirán los premios a las categorías competitivas.
El fallo del Jurado será inapelable y los premios pueden declararse desiertos en caso que no cumplan la calidad establecida por el jurado.
X. PUBLICACIÓN DE RESULTADOS FINALES
La Selección Oficial en Competencia y en Exhibición se publicará el 19 de octubre del 2020 en la página web www.ajayufest.com y se enviarán los laureles correspondientes por correo electrónico.
XI. PREMIACIÓN
La premiación se realizará durante la jornada de clausura del Festival, el 14 de noviembre del 2020. Los ganadores se comprometen a incorporar en sus créditos de inicio el premio obtenido acompañado del laurel del Festival.
XII. ACEPTACIÓN DE LAS BASES
La participación en este Festival implica la aceptación de las presentes bases. La ausencia de cualquier dato importante en la inscripción, así como del material adjunto a la misma y el incumplimiento de los plazos establecidos, podrá suponer la no participación en el Festival de la obra correspondiente.
