In response to the continued spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Indianapolis Black Documentary Film Festival will be postponed until April 9-10, 2021. The health and safety of our guests are our foremost concerns as we make this decision.
We had hoped the intermediate steps taken by the State of Indiana would be sufficient, but it is now clear we must take the set of actions as outlined by the CDC suggesting all citizens refrain from groups of more than 50 people for the next eight weeks.
We know this delay is deeply disappointing for our guests as well as our featured documentary filmmakers. Yet, we are sure this is absolutely necessary, and are asking all individuals to make deep sacrifices for the good of those in our community who are most vulnerable to the threat of infection.
We are deeply grateful to everyone for your understanding and your willingness to bear with yet another disruption caused by this virus. Personal responsibility and swift collective action are essential as we work together to protect the health and safety of our community.
Sincerely,
Eric V A Winston PhD, Director IBDFF
