About the festival

Some say they see spirits in the Smoky Mountains... Others claim that people go missing at the hand of unknown creatures... Well one thing is for sure, we will have Horror in the Hills!

Horror in the Hillis is a festival from Breaking Fate Entertainment (producers of The Chicago Horror Film Festival, The Indie Horror Film Festival and The Laugh or Die Comedy Festival). This Horror and Dark Genre film festival is an international film festival in beautiful and historic Gatlinburg, TN!

OUR 2019 EVENT IS BOOKED AT THE BEAUTIFUL GREYSTONE LODGE IN HISTORIC GATLINBURG, TENNESSEE, JUST ONE MILE FROM THE GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK!

UPDATE: 2019 will be our last season of Horror in the Hills. We have worked hard to try and build on this even for the last half decade. We want to thank everyone that has contributed, attended and supported our passion project. It was a fun ride. In the future we invite you to check out the Smoky Mountain Film Festival, hosted in the same area. Details at www.smokymountainfilmfest.com

Our number one goal is to produce events to support and get independent artists noticed and rewarded for hard work and quality art. We hope you will submit your horror film to this awesome annual Halloween season festival!

We are only accepting submissions via online screener (here on filmfreeway.com) and exhibition films will need to be in MOV, MP4 or AVI formats if selected. We are not accepting DVD/BluRay/Hardcopy submissions any longer.

MISSION & OBJECTIVE
Horror in the Hills is an independent film festival and mixed media event.

We strive to support independent film, and promote all types of dark art. We go the extra mile to get recognition beyond the festival alone for the amazingly talented people in this industry. Even films submitted to us that don't get accepted for the festival are very often reviewed and written about by one of our columnists for one of our websites or print magazine publications including Breaking Fate Magazine!
