The call is open to filmmakers, visual artists, students, amateur and professional videomakers, as well as national and foreign general public from February 17 to June 17, 2020. The results will be announced on August 1, 2020
Rules & Terms
Basis of participation
1.- Short films completed from January 1, 2016 may participate. The call is open to all audiences, both nationally and internationally.
2.- Short films may belong to any of the following categories: Fiction, documentary, video dance, video performance, animation, found footage, video essay and / or experimental.
3.- The subject is totally free.
4.- The films may be made with any type of camera or digital technology. The important thing is creativity and the use of poetry in audiovisual media.
5.- The works must have a minimum duration of 1 minute, maximum 60 minutes (short, medium and feature film).
6.- The films must be authored by the participating artist or filmmaker.
7.- Registration will be made exclusively through the FilmFreeway platform.
8.- The authors of the selected films must send a link for download
free that does not expire (Dropbox, We transfer, Vimeo, Drive or similar, free of charge and NO
require request access permissions or registration). The format must be MP4, codec H264.
9.- Selected foreign films must have Spanish subtitles for their
final display
10.- The deadline for registration is 06/17/2020. Registrations made after
That date will not be taken into account.
11.- The final selection of films will be announced on the official networks of the festival to
as of 08/01/2019.
12.- The jury's decision will be final.
13.- The selected works will be screened during the days of the Festival (August 15-23, 2020) in various cultural spaces of Mexico City.
14.- The contestants are responsible for the rights of the works sent to the Festival.
15.- The projection schedules will be announced in the official program of the Festival, as well as its social networks.
16.- The Festival may use fragments and frames of the films selected for dissemination of the event in the media, including the Internet.
17.- The organization of the Festival will not cover in any case the coverage of tickets, per diem or accommodation for the authors of the selected short films.
18.- The festival is non-competitive, so it will not pay projections to the selected artists.
19- Registration of music videos or advertising videos will not be accepted.
20.- The Festival will disqualify the works that apologize to racism to misogyny or any type of violence that denigrates and violates human rights.
21.- Sending a movie to Helios Sun Poetry Film Festival implies acceptance of these rules.

La convocatoria está abierta para cineastas, artistas visuales, estudiantes, videomakers amateurs y profesionales, así como público en general nacional y extranjero.
Bases de participación
1.- Podrán participar cortometrajes finalizados a partir del 1º de enero de 2016. La
convocatoria está abierta para todo público, tanto a nivel nacional como
internacional.
2.- Los cortometrajes podrán pertenecer a cualquiera de las siguientes categorías:
Ficción, documental, video danza, video performance, animación, found footage,
video ensayo y/o experimental.
3.- El tema es totalmente libre.
4.- Las películas podrán estar hechas con cualquier tipo de cámara o tecnología digital.
Lo importante es la creatividad y el uso de la poesía en los medios audiovisuales.
5.- Las obras deberán tener una duración mínima de 1 minuto, máximo 60 minutos
(corto, medio y largometraje).
6.- Las películas deberán ser de autoría del artista o cineasta participante.
7.- La inscripción se realizará exclusivamente a través de la plataforma FilmFreeway.
8.- Los autores de las películas seleccionados deberán enviar un link para su descarga
gratuita que no expire (Dropbox, We transfer, Vimeo, Drive o similar, sin costo y que
NO requiera solicitar permisos de acceso ni registro). El formato deberá ser MP4,
codec H264.
9.- Las películas extranjeras seleccionadas deberán contar con subtítulos al español para
su exhibición final.
10.- El plazo límite de inscripción es el 17/06/2020. Las inscripciones realizadas después
de esta fecha no serán tomadas en cuenta.
11.- La selección oficial se dará a conocer por medio de las redes oficiales del festival
a partir del 1/08/2019.
12.- El fallo del Jurado será inapelable.
13.- Las obras seleccionadas se proyectarán durante los días del Festival (del 15 al 23 de
agosto del 2020) en diversos espacios culturales de la Ciudad de México.
14.- Los concursantes son responsables de los derechos de las obras enviadas al
Festival.
15.- Los horarios de proyección serán anunciados en el programa oficial del Festival, así
como las redes sociales del mismo.
16.- El Festival podrá utilizar fragmentos de las películas seleccionadas
para difusión del evento en medios de comunicación, incluyendo Internet.
17.- La organización del Festival no cubrirá en ningún caso la cobertura de pasajes,
viáticos o alojamiento para los autores de los cortos seleccionados.
18.- El Festival es de carácter no competitivo por lo cual no pagará proyecciones a los
artistas seleccionados.
19.- No serán aceptados vídeos musicales o videos publicitarios.
20.- El Festival descalificará los trabajos que hagan apología al racismo a la misoginia o
cualquier tipo de violencia que denigre los derechos humanos.
21.- Enviar una película a Helios Sun Poetry Film Festival implica la aceptación de estas
normas.
