About the festival

Galichnik Film Festival is small festival looking to leave big footprint in the sky full of festivals by providing platform for new filmmakers from the region and beyond. Galichnik is a village known for its well-preserved traditional architecture, including an amphitheater in the village square, where the festival audience will have the chance to see number of films in three competition programs: short fiction, short documentary and short animation.
The festival aspires to become a meeting point for film professionals from around the world to develop new ideas, collaborations and friendships. We are excited for the audience to be part of a unique cinema experience in an open air cinema at an altitude of 1500m.

Terms and rules

GALICHNIK FILM FESTIVAL:

Entries for Galichnik Film Festival are open for everyone.
The Short Film (Fiction, Animated, Documentary) can be based on any subject or concept.
Only Short Films produced after 1st January 2018 are eligible for the festival.
All films must be under 30 minutes.
Submissions in languages other than English must be subtitled in English.
Multiple entries from the same participant are accepted.
The submission of the films is via FilmFreeway platform.
After a film has been selected and the filmmaker is notified, the film will be listed on the festival web site under official selections.
Galichnik Film Festival reserves the right to make changes at any time for any reason.
The short films that are selected for final screening will not be allowed to withdraw under any circumstances until the festival is over.
Each participant is responsible for the content of his/her work and for any possible copyright problems. The participant owns all rights concerning the usage of his/her work according to the regulations.
The Festival reserves the right to shut the festival at any time without any notification.
Any Film, selected or not selected, will be a decision of selection panel which is final and accepted by all.
The decision of jury members will be final and accepted by all.
The Festival does not pay screening fees for the films of any of the Festival competitions.

After your film is selected:

1. A screening copy must be sent in HD file in format MP4, H264, MOV using online platforms.
2. The time coded English dialogues list (.srt),
3. Poster, 2 Stills from the film (300pdi), a very short summary in English (max. 50 words), a short CV of the film director in English (max. 50 words).

The sender of the submitted film or screenplay is responsible for all copyrights. He is legally authorized to enter his film or screenplay in the festival and, if selected for the festival, authorized to give screening permission.
Filmmaker agrees that film entered into the festival may be selected for screening at the Festival, and that fragments of the film might be also presented through mass media, in association with the promotional campaigns of the film festival.
The applicant has to read and accept the regulations and guidelines for participation.

SCRIPT WORKSHOP:

Galichnik Film Festival announces an open call for application for the script development workshop for participants from Balkan Countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Croatia, Greece, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey)

The 2-day workshop will be held during the first edition of Galichnik film Festival, which will take place from 28th to 30th August 2020. The workshop offers screenwriters the opportunity to work intensively on their feature scripts, under the guidance of script experts.

Candidates who are interested in the workshop should send the application including:

1. Synopsis
2. Full script
3. Author's note
3. Short resume

The chosen participants will be notified by August 20th.
