2020 FFF Submission Guidelines
*Carefully read the guidelines before submitting your film.*

A) Guidelines
1 – Entrant must be enrolled as a student at a university, college or other post-secondary institution at the time of production. Therefore, the entrant must include proof of student status at the time of production. Please include a copy of a current student ID with your entry or email it to flamingofilmfest@gmail.com. FAU students and alumni are encouraged to submit films.

2 – Films and videos are limited to 20 minutes or less.

3 – Multiple submissions are allowed. However, each submission must be accompanied by the USD entry fee, determined by Festival Organizers.

4 – Films and videos must be completed on or after January 1, 2018. A rough cut may be considered, provided that if selected, a final cut of the film is made available at least two weeks before scheduled programming.

5 – Foreign language films must be subtitled and/or captioned in English.

6 – A completed entry form must accompany each film or video. All forms, fees, and films or videos must be received by the submission deadline. Only complete entries will be processed.

7 – Entrant confirms and warrants required legal authority to submit the entry into the festival and to use all music, images, and content within the entry.

8 – Entrant permits usage of video clips and production stills (photos) from the entry for promotional use online, on television and radio, in print, and at live festival events.

B) Submissions
1 – All Submissions will be through FilmFreeway. Regular deadline is 11:59 PM (EST), MARCH 21st, 2020. Extended deadline is 11:59 PM (EST), April 15th, 2020. Deadline waivers available upon request and until April 19th.

C) Notifications
1 – All entrants will be notified by email or FilmFreeway when their film or video has been received.

2 – For publication purposes, entries selected will be required to supply three high-resolution stills from the film and at least one high-resolution photograph of the film’s director. Publicity and press materials will not be returned and become the property of the film festival. The Flamingo Film Festival has permission to use excerpts from any accepted film for promotional purposes.

3 – If accepted, entrants will be notified by email on or before April 20th, 2020. A student filmmaker will need to provide a downloadable .mov or mp4 via Dropbox, Google Drive, FilmFreeway, or Vimeo to screen.

4 – If not accepted, the festival does not offer technical nor critical feedback of films.

D) Entry Fees
1 – Submission Fee is $10 (USD) per entry. That's cheap! Discounts and waivers are at the discretion of Festival Organizers.

E) Returns

F) Categories and Awards
1 – Flamingo Film Festival reserves the right and has the discretion to change the submission category for an entry.

2 – The Festival strives to recognize student achievements in film and video. Therefore, the festival will be juried and competitive. Payment of the entry fee does not guarantee a screening. The festival jury will present awards to films and videos selected as "best" in whatever categories they see fit. There are no cash awards.

G) Travel and Accommodations
1 – This is the sole responsibility of the entrant. However, in some circumstances, assistance in finding accommodations may be provided.
