Call and regulations
1. Introduction
Titania teatro is opening the international call for short and feature films for the third edition of the Movie Festival taking place in Castelvolturno from the 2 to the 6 of November 2020.
2. The Purpose
The final purpose of the Festival is to make the city a reference point of the film industry, since it already was source of inspiration for directors and producers that have chosen Castelvolturno as a set in the last few years.
After the second edition that seen the participation of more than thirty thousand movies all over the world, we would like to further extend our borders and engage also in divulgation activities on sensitive issues.
3. The Selection
• Preselection
All the submission will be preselected from the Artistic Committee headed by the artistic director Daniela Cenciotti. The Committee will follow the present regulation and it will have the responsibility of preselecting the works by giving grades taking into account both the technical and artistic side of the movies.
• Selection
The works chosen will be viewed and judged by:
- Quality Jury: composed by experts of the theatre sector, film industry and journalism whose names will be published on the website
- Youth Jury: composed by youth aged between 16 to 20
Both the juries will select the winning works and will assign the awards
4. Award Ceremony
The following awards will be assigned:
• Feature films
- Best Feature Film: this is the only award that will be assigned by the public
• Short films
- “Festival del cinema di Castel Volturno” award: Best short film assigned by the Quality Jury
- “Best Short film” assigned by the Youth Jury
- Honorable mentions assigned by the Quality Jury to:
Best Director
Best Actor
Best Actress
Best Photography
Best Screenplay
5. Regulation
The participation in the competition imply the acceptance of the whole regulation points (under penalty: of exclusion):
I. The sender, with the submission of application, declares to be related rights owner and that the content of the work does not violate the laws in force and that the work does not contains any libelous. In any case, the author raises the organization from all liabilities of any nature whatsoever that may be incurred due to the content of his work and his public screening.
II. The works that will be submitted will be part of the database built for educational purposes, and that they could be utilised during non-profit cultural events
III. The competition organisation, as well as Titania Teatro, are not responsible for any damage or losses to the works
IV. The Short movie competition is a free subject
V. All movie genre will be accepted with the exclusion of documentaries, videoclip, video-art
VI. International movies will be accepted with english subtitles. After the pre-selection, it will be compulsory to send a version of the movies with italian subtitles.
VII. For feature movies the minimal duration is 60 minutes. For short movies the maximum duration is 15 minutes
VIII. The authors of the award winners works will be invited to the award ceremony and, in case it won’t be possible to guarantee their presence, it will be possible to send a video message to be projected during the ceremony
IX. Participation is free
6. Material to be sent:
o Copy of the work in digital format such as MP4 or MPEG2-Video, possibly through the site
o Registration form (with consent form), completed in its entirety and attached to this announcement
o Copy of a valid form of ID of the person who signed the form
o Poster of the work in format such as PDF or Jpeg, possibly high resolution
7. Format of selected works
In case of selection, all the material need to be send to the email address as follow:
- The movie and the trailer: english and italian subtitles. Format: mov, h264, mpeg4
- Synopsis of the movie in english and italian
- Director’s biography in english and italian (bet. 400 and 500 characters, spaces included)
- Director’s declaration in english and italian
- Photographic documentation with authorisation for the publication: two images in jpeg format (for the web promotion)
- Each photo need to be labeled with the movie title and a reference number for catalogation. Possible format: mov, h264, mpeg4 (other formats need to be approved by the festival office)
- No rental fees will be payed for this selection
8. Submission deadline
The deadline for the movie presentation is on the 1 of july 2020 at 23.00
